NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.2 software your feedback? - 2008/06/17 19:26 Here we go, a new version is again available. We did get access to some GeForce GTX 200 series BIOS's and with the help of xtremetheme we have a new update to support these new cards. This is a bigger release to add the support for these new cards and of course to add extra functionality we need more BIOS's, and therefore we added also an easy submit function. Upcoming features or things you would like to see... Let us know and we will see what is possible and/or feasible.

NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.2 Software

And please provide your feedback... That way we will be able to support you even better! Also provide your original BIOS as that help a lot to get thing better supported in the next versions!

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.2 software your feedback? - 2008/07/07 21:49 I'm trying to use NiBiTor v4.2 on my laptop's video BIOS. It's an Everex XT5000 with a GeForce Go 7600 video card. However I can't even get to the BIOS. I can select the device okay, but then if I try to read into NiBiTor the laptop crashes and reboots instantly, and if I try to write it to a file instead the laptop doesn't crash, however NiBiTor hangs and doesn't do anything, I can't even close it down from task manager. I thought the the GeForce Go 7600 was supported. I have managed to save the BIOS once to a file, but it's not a real BIOS, since in a HEX editor it shows as all zeroes...

Well the GeForce Go 7600 is supported for sure, though you got a laptop as a lot of users have where the video BIOS is encapsulated into the main BIOS and NiBiTor is not designed to read that out. NiBiTor is designed to read out the BIOS chip of the graphics card and in your case you don't have an actual graphics BIOS chip, as all is in the main BIOS of the laptop. This is a very common config for the GeForce Go 7600 and there is nothing we can do about that.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.2 software your feedback? - 2008/07/08 13:41 Hmm, I kinda suspected that but tried anyway. So you say there are actual discrete cards based on the GeForce Go 7600? I never would have suspected that, I thought the GeForce Go 7600 is always on-board like in my case.

Well there are cheap laptops and less cheap, and the cheap ones have an integrated GeForce Go 7600 which is linked-in with the other items of the computer as such and than the video BIOS is actually incapsulated in the main BIOS. But you have some less cheaper laptops and those have a separate GeForce Go 7600 module with its own BIOS, and those can also be replaced by a GeForce Go 8600 module as an upgrade...
