And what TimingSet does it say when you use the almost working BIOS? Cause it will most likely not be the same one. And the memory chip markings you can find out by removing the heatsink or cooling solution.

I can't tell what's going on in Windows well enough to know what TimingSet the BIOS uses. Also, I have no idea how to dissasemble a video card, and I'm not entirely sure I'm game to try. The heatsink doesn't look like it's designed to be removable.

So once again just look at the memory chips, and write down for use everything that is written on those. And then we will be able to find the specs about these.

Look mate, I deleted what I want and if I say your pictures are not readable than they are not. So once again yo just have to look at the top of the memory chips and not that whant is written on the top. If you can't read it weell try to find some counter lighting and some magnifying glass and read out what is embedded as details on the top of one of the memory chips as all chips will have the same markings. Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any ways to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/06/22 13:47What you can also do, and that is what I do to get the pictures of my reviews with memory chips and to get the markings better visible is to just light go over with some grey thermal paste so it fill the marking a bit and then wipe it clean. This way the marking will be grey and the memory chip still black and it will also improve slight the cooling of the chips.

Did anyone find a fix for a 1GB card of any brand, or did you all buy new motherboards? I can't afford that as I'd have to replace my memory and processor so I need a real fix. I tried contacting Palit but two weeks later and I'm still waiting. I have an ASUS A8V-E SE mainboard by the way.
With card in, system wouldn't post, with a Gen1 or updated EVGA BIOS it starts and goes to Windows but I get extreme graphical corruption and if I install the newest ForceWare drivers it locks up on Windows splash screen. I've tried twenty or so BIOS's. Tried changing the memory timings, tried changing the memory speeds, etc. Same result with the graphical corruption.

Try again with Palit to remind them and if that doesn't work let us know and we will see if we can get in touch with Palit.
