I know about the RAM...
But I prefer 2.0ns RAM card running stable instead of this shit. And please... I beg you not to blame Inno3D.

Many manufacturers have these problems. Nobody really knows what's causing this, so blame NVIDIA and not a manufacturer! This is my first Inno3D card and it isn't working, but I would never say that Inno3D made the mistake.

Well if no one knows whats causing this then why blame NVIDIA? And FYI, only smaller tier two and three manufacturers are having a rough time following a reference design by NVIDIA on the NV43, let alone making a non reference series, these groups just don't have the resources and Inno3D is one of them.

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 01:42 Indeed Tier One manufacturers don't have this issue... Gainward, PNY, BFG,... All are running fine. And I prefer the 1.6ns they are more stable and produce less heat! So don't blame it on the memory. I would blame it one cooler and the HSI lack of cooling... And I think the BIOS is not the latest one neither. I think somehow they have to wait for a BIOS update of NVIDIA, which was already send out to the Tier One manufacturers...

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 01:44 Just for your info, we know from a hardware reseller who has very good contact at Inno3D Germany that Inno3D has a lot of issue and will have a redesign of their 6600GT cards to fix these. And for now they are working on that! And they expect that several buyers will send in their cards fro replacement.

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 01:53 In English it's not that easy for me to express what I actually want to. For example the RAM thingy... The 1.6ns is without any doubt better than 2.0ns. But if I had the choice... a fucked up 1.6ns card and a smooth working 2.0ns card. You know what I mean...

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 02:02 Well see the point here is that ram speed doesn’t dictate quality of the memory chip. It doesn’t matter what the speed rating is if the components used are not high quality modules. To save money and have a competitive resale price smaller manufacturers have to use cheaper parts, what’s this mean to you? Cheaper product and cheaper components means cheaper quality and performance.

Having been said, if a company uses cheaper ram and components these issues are most likely why people are having big problems with these cards and well unfortunately Inno3D is experiencing this phenomenon right now with there NV43.

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 02:28 Now just some final words... I'll send the card back and will do this until I get a working card. But it isn't all negative. I've found a nice forum with some guys having a lot of experience with GFX-cards.
So, don't worry, be happy!

GPU: N11293.00 0437A2
RAM: SAMSUNG 425 K4J55323QF-GC16
(the last thing is different with every module)

Tomorrow I'm going to send the card back, so I don't remove the HSI heatsink and thermal compound.

By the way...it hurts that I have to put a thick layer silcone on it... And thermal compound glue (dunno if it's the correct expression for this)... The heatsink had glue at two points. Really strange card design!

Well as I can see we don't have the same GPU revision (I have GPU : N09505.00 0434A2). It can be the same shit as we have with CPU, depending the revision you can have more or less luck to overclock...

If there are other Inno3D unlucky overclockers, check your GPU revision if you dare to remove the heatsink and post the GPU revision and overclock results.

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 04:05 I've take a look at the XFX review and if you look closer to the GPU revision of the XFX you can read: N11985.00 0441A2.

The first part must be the number of units produced but what means the six last characters 0441A2 for the XFX , 0437A2 for milch unit and 0434A2 for my unit...

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 04:59 So which means that on that XFX review they have a later revision of the GPU used to build the XFX GeForce 6600GT AGP...
