Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/10 02:28 That really sucks. Now I have to clean the GPU again and have to apply silicon. Much of it... the GPU looked terrible... All over a real thick layer of it. I Hope Inno3D doesn't get the clue that I've changed the thermal compound.

Nein, ich bin kein Fachhändler und muss mich erstmal an den Versandshop wenden... Das kann dauern.

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/11 02:11 I've no troubles to play games with mine except with high overclock sometimes at Doom 3 timedemo. I play a lot of Counter-Strike: source and have no probs.

At normal speed (500MHz GPU & 1000MHz Memory), I've 55fps at timedemo (after 2 runs) (1280x1024, high quality no AA).

Applying Artic Silver let me see a drop of 10°C (around 65-67°C before AS now 55°C) but anyway the last BIOS doesn't let you see real temp. Well the driver cannot read the BIOS info correctly.

It could be nice to compare your GPU Revision and HSI Revisions. You can find the values of my GPU and HSI on the first page...

Edit...
If the new card have a different BIOS, I know who I have to send it.

Well I hope it has a new BIOS which fixes all the issues... And well I am expecting you to send me the BIOS anyway, even if you think it is the same BIOS.

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/12 04:39 I'll check the values and give a feedback.

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/12 16:33 I have an Inno3d 6600GT AGP 128MB as well and there is no way to get higher than 500MHz on the core. Maybe 1.5V to the core would help, is it possible with a BIOS vmod? I tried several BIOSes and still no luck. I think that Inno3D missed some parts when making these cards.

Never ever will I buy Inno3D and I will surely advertise this on other forums. The card runs rather stable at the default scores but I don't get the best results especially in 3DMark2001 (only 14500 - I had 13800 with a 4200TI and like 16000 with a FX5900XT) and Aquamark (42000 - 6600GT , 44000 - FX5900XT). I even get 1500 point lower than with the previous card I had, the MSI GeForce FX5900XT. I did a fresh install of WinXP as well and have the newest chipset and display drivers...

My rig...
- AMD Athlon 1700+ @ 2600+ (200MHz*11)
- 2*256 DDR 400 TwinMos
- Epox 8RDA+ nForce2
- 400Watt PSU

The temps with the original BIOS were 39°C at idle and now I have 50°C with Rev.02, no ambient temp. I applied thermal compound as well. Should I RMA this card or what?

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/13 06:14 Try to clean also the HSI heatsink and apply Artic silver on it. By default the HSI doesn't receive cool air due to the GPU heatsink design. I've disassembled the CPU heatsink, removing the upper part where the logo of Inno3D stand.

Now the air pushed by the fan can cool a bit the HSI heatsink (the black heatsink). Dunno if this help to overclock but if you check the other post about Inno3D, I've put a link about a review where the sample they get has holes in the GPU heatsink to let fan blow on the HSI heatsink.

These holes don't exist on my heatsink and I guess it's the same for all the Inno3D owners...

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 01:01 GPU: N11293.00 0437A2
RAM: SAMSUNG 425 K4J55323QF-GC16
(the last thing is different with every module)

Tomorrow I'm going to send the card back, so I don't remove the HSI heatsink and thermal compound.

By the way...it hurts that I have to put a thick layer silcone on it... And thermal compound glue (dunno if it's the correct expression for this)... The heatsink had glue at two points. Really strange card design!

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 01:13 Well I see you got 1.6ns memory (...-GC16) which means you should be able to clock em at 1200MHz. Well it seems these Inno3D cards are not yet that good. Hopefully the next Revision will be!

Re:Inno3D 6600GT AGP - 2005/01/14 01:19 I know about the RAM...
But I prefer 2.0ns RAM card running stable instead of this shit. And please... I beg you not to blame Inno3D.

Many manufacturers have these problems. Nobody really knows what's causing this, so blame NVIDIA and not a manufacturer! This is my first Inno3D card and it isn't working, but I would never say that Inno3D made the mistake.
