Gainward GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB, TCrit of 191°C correct? - 2008/06/18 17:15 At first a big thank you for providing this great software for free. With my Gainward GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB and BIOS version 60.80.13.00.16, NiBiTor 4v.2 shows TCrit as 191°C in the Fan Speed IC settings. Is that correct? I want to flash a modified version of my BIOS to make the fan run slower in desktop and/or idle and don't want to damage anything by flashing a mixed up BIOS.

Did you backup the original BIOS of your Gainward card and are you looking at that one? Cause if so then surely there is no issue and also secondly the TCrit settings will not be used as the BIOS you are showing using the dynamic fan speed option, instead of fixed or automatic.

Yes the screenshot is from the original unmodified BIOS.
I dont know the difference between Dynamic Speed and Automatic Speed, but i think at the moment im using Automatic Speed via RivaTuner to test my settings:

I just lowered Duty cycle min, T min and T low limit.
So i suppose the new BIOS i will be flashing will be using Automatic Speed. Is the TCrit value only relevant when using Fixed Speed (so i could just leave it untouched)?
