Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/06/27 20:42 Why is it that these cards max out at 650/1960MHz and shader at 1625MHz at least on my card and Dell XPS 1730 owners are claiming clocks well into the 700MHz? Can these cards not clock up to that speed, or are XPS cards a little better? Perhaps there is a way for force a Dell BIOS onto the card and have it work.

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/06/28 10:44 Don't compare laptops as you would compare normal desktop graphics cards. And for what it is worth, Dell has a better version of the GeForce 8800M GTX itself as module in their laptops that allow higher voltage settings which is not the case for CLEVO. You will just have to live with that...

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/07/02 18:40 I was guessing... You are the most skillful in these things, so you would be able to rewrite completely how voltages works in the CLEVO GeForce 8800M GTX, or not? I don't think that CLEVO engineers are more able than you. Sorry if it is a stupid question.

It is not a stupid question, but that is not possible what you are asking for. As I explained the BIOS is only the means to select a voltage but if the voltage circuitry logic of the CLEVO doesn't have the different voltage levels like on the Dell version, there is nothing the BIOS can do. So really no, nothing is possible, the hardware is giving some levels but isn't offering what Dell is offering and there is no way around that.

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/07/03 09:30 Oh, so there is no hope in a future new BIOS from CLEVO or NVIDIA that solve the problem? The problem is on a voltage chip in CLEVO mainboard or card itself, right?

Small correction, but this not a problem. So don't come with that excuse. These cards are correctly made, and what you are trying is to get more out of it and you get blocked at a certain level. And in the end that is what you paid for as NVIDIA is just giving warranty for normal use and yeah they are a bit flexible so that still some tweaks can be done. Just be lucky with what you got and if you are not, than you should be prepared to put a bit more money on the table for the SLI version from Dell of the GeForce 8800M GTX which has just that extra more, but that is just normal for the top model on the notebook market...

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/07/03 23:23 Yes, obviously you are right, this cannot be defined as a problem. But I don't understand what small correction means. Maybe a software correction will be possible? Thanks.

The small correction was meant on what you wrote, nothing more and nothing less. Again, nothing can make a difference, no software or whatever. Unless CLEVO comes with a different GeForce 8800M GTX, though again all are the same as they are made by NVIDIA and they won't make any change as that is how they designed it. But the SLI module, which is one module featuring immediately two GeForce 8800M GTX's has a different design, which is better and can give Higher voltage. And just comes down to one simple line, you pay more so you get more...
