Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/05/12 08:59Hi, I want to ask you... Can I change the performance levels in my CLEVO GeForce 8800M GTX SLI BIOS from 4 levels to 3 levels and doing so remove the Extra clocks. I want to do this to try more higher overclock, can I do this? I will upload the BIOS. The BIOS are for both card I don't know why I get it from my reseller this is original file.

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/05/12 09:08The GeForce 8 and 9 series cards always run at the Extra clocks, so removing them is not going to do you any good. Why can't you overclock with the Extra clocks?

First of all if you want to start multiple thread about the exact same I will be kindly forced to removed your threads and eventually lock down your account. We are not like other forums and we want some kind of structure and order on our website, including our forums. So you are warned, if you have a thread about something you keep on using that one, unless it is about something completely different, which it is not in your case.

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/05/12 14:49Stop playing around and repost whatever I deleted, cause the reason why I delete it plain and simple, patience while I check the full thread again with all your uploads. Though if I find something that I have asked several times and it is not as I requested you will get the same answer, and we don't care what the reseller is saying and confirming. Now I have deleted also several uploads as you uploaded several times the same thing.
Secondly I haven't seen any answer on what you really have in the laptop. Do you have one MXM module which is the GeForce 8800 GTX SLI as a whole or you have actually two modules? This is very important to know as it will explain the difference with Dell. So can you comment on that cause all depends a bit on getting first all the information we need to find out what is the difference between the CLEVO and the Dell SLI system...

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/05/12 15:17Having checked it all out, I would say you have a laptop running two GeForce 8800M GTX's running in SLI mode, which is different from the GeForce 8800M GTX SLI module from Dell which is one module featuring two mobile chips running as a GX2 actually. So you wil not be able to do the same thing as with the Dell SLI config as it is a different solution. Now I have updated your BIOS and actually enabled the 1.05V, and no 1.10V as that is not available in the VID modes.
Though the BIOS is just enabled to select the 1.05V, but it is still set at 1.00V for the Extra mode as that is the default voltage on this CLEVO BIOS initially for the Extra mode. So flash first this BIOS untouched to see if your cards still work with it. If okay, you adapt the BIOS by just changing in the Extra mode the voltage to 1.05V and that is the highest voltage you can go with it.

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/05/12 17:37Thanks, I know that we can't set more than 1.05V but with 1.05V I can overclock only stable only to 600/1600MHz but when I edit 1.05V to 1.10V I can set the clocks stable to 650/1700MHz, but I know the real voltage is not changing. Do you have some explanation of this?

Euh, strange cause the voltage change should not have an impact at all on the memory overclocking at all as the voltage is only controlling the processing core and has no impact at all on the memory. Secondly by just changing the label you make no change to the voltage at all so what you are doing I believe is simply a software bug somehow that works in a very strange fashion. Just try changing it to 1.20V which is an impossible level and what will do. But from what I know your laptop is just playing some kind of game.

Well I checked both the BIOS's and what the CLEVO version is all about it a newer version in deed than before and it comes with higher clocks and the 3D mode set at 1.1V, against the default one running at only 1.0V. And well there is nothing more we can tweak on the voltage on this new CLEVO version as the BIOS is already set at the highest voltage level possible.
