Re:XFX GeForce 7900 GS AGP and problem for Race Driver Grid? - 2008/06/10 23:54 To respond to somone's earlier message that the computer is restarting is not true. The computer will work fine except for the video display is garbled. I have had the opportunity to uninstall and reinstall drivers when switching between my old working video card and the XFX card and I still have the problem. I won't say its a driver problem because the video display is garbled from the beginning of first starting the computer. From the onset of the video card's BIOS screen first appearing, the screen is garbled.

Re:XFX GeForce 7900 GS AGP and problem for Race Driver Grid? - 2008/06/11 03:08 My apologies, you said restarted machine, I thought you meant the problem caused a restart. Sorry about that. You should try another power supply if you can, just to see if yours is working fine. Also you still haven't said whether you plugged in the power cable for the video card or not, if it needs one.

Now I am just wondering how long have you used the GeForce 7900 GS without issues with your computer before installing the game Race Driver Grid? Has the card ever worked fine before, and by that we don't mean just in Windows, but really during gaming, and which games did you use? And did you buy this as a new card or from someone else, meaning a used card?

Re:XFX GeForce 7900 GS AGP and problem for Race Driver Grid? - 2008/06/12 02:45 Yes, the power plug for the video card was in and every time I swapped it out, trying to debug the problem. I did tried another power supply, an Antec 480W TruePower. I bought the card new during the first week of December from Newegg. Played Battlefied 2, Call of Duty, Need for Speed Most Wanted and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. The card worked well in the games. Had absolutely no problems with it. Been in contact via support ticket with XFX and this is what was said.

Thanks for the message and sorry you've had this problem. Typically any kind of graphical corruption upon bootup or in the posting of your system will indicate that there may be some fault of the graphics card itself, and that it should be sent in for replacement service right away. So thanks for the help everyone. Will mail it out tomorrow and I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

That is also what I was thinking though we always check first if the card was as such from the beginning or not. In your case it wasn't, which was already one feedback and that it was working fine before. In that case it could only be a problem caused by bad drivers, if you installed new drivers or really that the card just flipped and went bad, and a replacement would be needed. Let us know how it goes.
