Re:GeForce 7600 GT, having major problem gives blank screen? - 2008/06/06 17:56 Well I did reformat my computer recently but can't remember if that was before or after I had the problems with the graphics card. Although I have had a lot of problems since reformatting in example with missing ".dll" files, slower Windows loading screen. Small stuff like that. I borrowed a mates Windows XP Professional CD to reformat though, so I don't have it anymore. Is there any software that can correct any operating system problems? Thanks for the help.

I was reading another forums and someones advice was to delete the ATI graphics card, my old graphics card from the device manager. Then I restarted and put my new GeForce card in and it worked! So I made sure I got rid of all the old ATI drivers and software. So its all up and running well for now anyway until I have another random problem. Cheers for the help.

Mmm, I thought you had done that already when you where in safe mode. Cause I did ask to remove the drivers of all graphics cards that really means the drivers and would have deleted it automatically from the device manager. Yeah maybe we should have clearer communicated that. But indeed ATI and NVIDIA cards, drivers don't works well together so you really need to make sure all is gone before you try a new graphics card. I am glad you got it sorted.
