GeForce 6600 card with wrong BIOS flashed, please help?! - 2008/01/05 15:28 I flashed the wrong BIOS on my graphics card, a GeForce 6600 and it gives a blank screen. My mainboard have SLI and thus two PCI Express interfaces, but no onboard display. Can I use other video card to repair my GeForce 6600? And how do I do that, can you help me with a stepped process? Please help!

Re:GeForce 6600 card with wrong BIOS flashed, please help?! - 2008/01/05 16:16 Try use newer nvFlash version like v5.10 or higher. Use below command to force flash and if you blind flash, press Y several times. You should see the keyboard lights rotating while it flashes the card. Good luck.

nvFlash v5.xx Commands...
"nvflash -4 -5 -6 backup.rom" (Forced BIOS Flash)

Well since you state that you have a blank screen, I am presuming that the PC is still booting up just fine with the GeForce 6600 card in it? If so then you need to make a bootable DOS media, like a floppy or USB stick and you also need to make sure that the system is booting from that media. This you need to setup on the mainboards BIOS... So maybe you just need to borrow a working graphics card to set that.

Once that is okay you just add in the "autoexec.bat" of the bootable DOS media the command listed below which will flash the graphics card completely automatically and once done reboot. So that means you first remove the working card again and only put in the broken GeForce 6600. And on the bootable DOS media you put the backup BIOS.

nvFlash v5.xx Commands...
"nvflash -4 -5 -6 -y -A backup.rom" (Automatic BIOS Flash)

Which command is the good one? Because in the guide it looks different and lists the below as command.
"nvflash -4 -5 -6 -a -y file.rom"

Re:GeForce 6600 card with wrong BIOS flashed, please help?! - 2008/06/06 12:40 What difference? I really don't see any difference, except capitals or no capitals but that doesn't matter really. The best to follow the forums as the guide is under review and will be redone completely.
