Re:ASUS P5Q Deluxe Intel P45 65nm Chipset Motherboard Review - 2008/05/27 10:03 Mmm 16-phase power? You've got to be kidding. I don't care how efficient the board is it could be a lot more efficient if they didn't go for such ridiculous numbers of power phases. The P45 isn't looking that impressive right now, as the P35 could hit 500MHz FSB pretty easily, unless these people can't overclock well or as they said, it may be a bad board.

Re:ASUS P5Q Deluxe Intel P45 65nm Chipset Motherboard Review - 2008/05/27 12:52 Yeah indeed it sounds like an overkill but in the end the power and voltage control is very essential when moving to parts manufacturerd smaller and smaller, and that can get hurt with certain variations more easily on the voltage and power. So I understand indeed that the 16-phase might be too much, but rather nice to see they go as such.

Re:ASUS P5Q Deluxe Intel P45 65nm Chipset Motherboard Review - 2008/05/27 12:59 Why do you think it didn't overclock that well? Perhaps the Intel P45 chipset on that review sample was some early silicon, that or the P45 is going to be worse than the P35.

I have no clue, but not every sample is the same and indeed this board is very new so could have some things that could be better and that is something where ASUS as for as I know them is very good at, releasing new BIOS version to fix and improve their products.
