Well you still didn't do what I asked really as you have not yet given us the details about the TimingSet used by your original BIOS, secondly not of the BIOS you would like to use and lastly it would be best to check the actual memory used on your graphics card so we can check the specs of those memory chips and make the BIOS for you.
Oh, okay. The TimingSet used by my card is number 1, I posted both the original BIOS my card uses and the kinda working BIOS on the previous page. I have no idea what actual memory the card uses though, how do I find that out?

Okay so that means your card with the original BIOS on it is using TimingSet 1 if I am right? And what TimingSet does it say when you use the almost working BIOS? Cause it will most likely not be the same one. And the memory chip markings you can find out by removing the heatsink or cooling solution.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/06/19 06:46 By kinda works I mean allows me to see what I'm typing in DOS. I can't tell what's going on in Windows well enough to know what TimingSet the BIOS uses. Also, I have no idea how to dissasemble a video card, and I'm not entirely sure I'm game to try. The heatsink doesn't look like it's designed to be removable.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/06/19 18:22 Further messages removed as it makes no sense to start talking about an image that is just not viewable with the details we are looking for. So once again just look at the memory chips, and write down for use everything that is written on those. And then we will be able to find the specs about these.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/06/20 07:22 Dude, the reason I posted the picture was because I don't know what I'm looking at. I don't know which numbers I'm supposed to be reading. The memory chips are just labeled MD1 through MD8.

Look mate, I deleted what I want and if I say your pictures are not readable than they are not. So once again yo just have to look at the top of the memory chips and not that whant is written on the top. If you can't read it weell try to find some counter lighting and some magnifying glass and read out what is embedded as details on the top of one of the memory chips as all chips will have the same markings. Thanks!

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/06/22 13:47 What you can also do, and that is what I do to get the pictures of my reviews with memory chips and to get the markings better visible is to just light go over with some grey thermal paste so it fill the marking a bit and then wipe it clean. This way the marking will be grey and the memory chip still black and it will also improve slight the cooling of the chips.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/07/05 08:18 I have a Palit GeForce 8800 GT Super 1GB graphics card. Did anyone find a fix for a 1GB card of any brand, or did you all buy new motherboards? I can't afford that as I'd have to replace my memory and processor so I need a real fix. I tried contacting Palit but two weeks later and I'm still waiting. I have an ASUS A8V-E SE mainboard by the way.

With card in, system wouldn't post, with a Gen1 or updated EVGA BIOS it starts and goes to Windows but I get extreme graphical corruption and if I install the newest ForceWare drivers it locks up on Windows splash screen. I've tried twenty or so BIOS's. Tried changing the memory timings, tried changing the memory speeds, etc. Same result with the graphical corruption.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/07/05 11:32 Well if there isn't any 1GB version on this thread or in our downloads section with a version of 62.92.23.x or higher than most will not have fixed it, if they had issues, although the 1GB is not so common. Try again with Palit to remind them and if that doesn't work let us know and we will see if we can get in touch with Palit.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/07/09 01:52 I heard back from Palit and they finally sent me a BIOS after about 20 days. I won't try it out until tomorrow, but here it is in the meantime. Palit GeForce 8800 GT Super 1GB updated BIOS that I have received.
