My GeForce 8800 GT card run just fine in other computer, I played Crysis till I was bored, just to make this card crash. But it never happened. Thanks for sharing, and in fact this has nothing to do with this thread at all. As you siad it works fine with the GeForce 8800 GT before and without any issues. But yeah if you start mixing you are asking for trouble, especially with ATI drivers and NVIDIA drivers is never a good idea. If you want to discuss on this create your own thread but this has nothing at all to do with the thread discussion we are having here.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/03/21 19:40 I just received a MSI BIOS numbered 92.62.23.x from MSI in Taiwan. I saw that the 92.62.24.x versions add better PCI Express compatability. Anyone have a clue about the 92.62.23.x version and if it helps or not? If not, I'll just flash with EVGA or wait a tad longer. Thank you all.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/03/21 20:51 Can you share that BIOS with us, that way we can have a look at it but we doubt that this new MSI BIOS will solve the PCI Express issue but you never know. But without the BIOS we can't really tell.

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/03/21 21:36 Sure thing, here you go... Good luck and thank you. By the way, I'll be setting up my new PC this weekend and should be able to flash the card to try in the old system. I have one of the XFX 8800 GTS 512MMB, G92 based cards for the new PC!

Re:GeForce 8800 GT, and any way to edit out PCI Express 2.0? - 2008/03/22 00:13 Searched the forums last couple of weeks but couldn't find a thing about my card. Been having this for about 2 weeks now, and can't seem to get my card recognized. I have an ASUS P5K and I can hear my system post, but nothing on screen, seems like I'm in the right place to be when I read all about other people havin the same problem. Its a Twintech GeForce 8800 GT with 1GB of GDDR3 memory.

Tried with NiBiTor, but card doesn't seem to be supported. If someone capable could help with editing the PCI Express 2.0, or knows of another card of wich the BIOS is compatible with the Twintech, would be greatly appreciated.

Erm... I think you got it wrong. Like I said before I try this GeForce 8800 GT with an other non-VIA chipset computer just to check if my card is broken, but it never crashed. So I check my VIA based board if it's broken with ATI card and it run just fine. But when you combine them, the GeForce 8800 GT with VIA chipset on the ASRock 4CoreDual, green dot just in 10 second. Ofcourse if you install the card with different manufacture you must uninstall and clean the old driver first. For now I used the 62.92.27.x BIOS and I must lower my memory clock down to 1200MHz to play Crysis.

Ah okay, now you have explained that it the way you should have initially. Cause from before you couldn't really tell what you tried, so can you make sure with such things you clearly state what you tried I didn't get that you tried it on another PC without issues. Well what I can suggest is to try any BISO with a version as of 62.92.24.x or higher like this of EVGA and so on... The EVGA BIOS's are mostly the best ones around.

Well I am not sure at all as this BIOS has indeed some changes but not sure it is okay for the PCI Express compatibility. Howeveer I would just try it out and see what it gives, cause it could indeed be that this BIOS would fix it as well. If not, than you will have to go for one of those that are as of 62.92.24.x or newer.

Having checked the BIOS and going from our experience, we would have to say the following based on that your card comes with a BIOS having version 62.92.24.x that the PCI Express issue should be fixed in that BIOS and the ASUS P5K comes with an Intel P35 chipset it therefore hasn't got a problem as such with the PCI Express. So what I would do is first try the card in another PC, or take it back as being faulty...

None of other brand BIOS product works, except NVIDIA and EPES, from the beginbing of Gen1 I have tried the ASUS BIOS, then try every brand I can imagine, but they always crash after the driver installed. The only hope is Palit make their own BIOS that can fix this problem or lower the memory clock.
