NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.0 software your feedback? - 2008/03/30 10:25 Here we go, a new version is again available. We did get access to some extra GeForce 9 series BIOS's and with the help of xtremetheme we have a new update to support these and some fixes. As well as the extra support for mobile version of the GeForce 8800 series and a small fix on the fan speed settings. Upcoming features or things you would like to see... Let us know and we will see what is possible and/or feasible.

Well we are looking into this but to get all of it together we need some more of these GeForce 9 series BIOS's, so since you got a GeForce 9800 GX2 can you also share the BIOS's of your card? And yes that means sharing both BIOS's of the card, one of each PCB fo the GX2.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.0 software your feedback? - 2008/03/31 23:27 Hi i can't see anything of information of my grafics card, namely an e-GeForce 8800 GT SuperClocked. When I choose from the menu tools the read BIOS options, I get an error can't start driver. I must say I'm using Vista 64-bit edition. Is there a solution for it, thanks?

Well there is indeed a solution, but that means paying Microsoft a special license fee to register NiBiTor as a program that can directly access hardware from within Vista 64-bit... And since we make this program for free we won't be paying Microsoft, unless you guys are willing to do it for us. So if it is only to backup the BIOS, use a bootable Ms-DOS media and nvFlash v5.57 or newer, and after that you can use NiBiTor to change or tweak your BIOS as you would want to.

Yes will do. I will not be home until Friday so I will do then. Which program shall I use to extract the BIOS's? Should I used GPU-Z or NiBiTor? Thanks...

Well for the GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics card you should use GPU-Z which will allow you to backup both BIOS's which is not yet possible with NiBiTor due to a different logic on the BIOS extraction...

Oeps, I just added the BIOS's in the GeForce 9 series BIOS thread, I used NvFlash though and the following commands. Shall I do it with GPU-Z and re-attach?
"nvflash -b -i1 98gx21.rom" (Backup of Original #1 BIOS)
"nvflash -b -i2 98gx22.rom" (Backup of Original #2 BIOS)

That is fine, as you made the backup with nvFlash and that should be okay. I will check these out, but if you can read these just fine with NiBiTor, than these should be okay for you to tweak.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v4.0 software your feedback? - 2008/04/04 19:03 Yes NiBiTor reads them fine, except for the Fan Speed IC as discussed earlier. On my GX2 card the 62.92.39.00.09 BIOS came from "-i1" and the 62.92.39.00.10 BIOS came from "-i2" when using nvFash for the dump. I noticed when reading them through GPU-Z that the first BIOS ending .09 only has the core clock, memory clock and GPU temp in sensors tab. And the BIOS ending .10 has the above plus the PCB temp, fan speed and fan speed percentage. So the 2nd BIOS on the card is controlling the fan speed by the look of things.
