The problem is not the BIOS, what it will be is either the hardware, meaning the G92 chip or the drivers. And now as along as NVIDIA has not identied the issue, I doubt that anyone will find a fix fro the drivers no matter what they try to modify. And the ".inf" has lost a lot of tweaks and functionality as NVIDIA saw that too many tweaks could gives issues, but that is also the case for ATI. That is what now these things are bundled in other files that the drivers call upon...
Secondly your initial post is detailing that your friend did fix it with a BIOS tweak? Now I would like to see that BIOS, cause if that would really be the case than I don't see why you started this thread as you could just have asked that BIOS to your friend and flashed your card with it? Just logic thinking, no offence meant by this...

We could still use the same tweaked BIOS if it wasn't for the difference in clock speeds. His is the standard one 600/1800MHz while mine is the factory overclocked version 660/1900MHz. Hence I couldn't use his tweaked BIOS. I must admit that many people have fixed this problem by using the ForceWare 169.61 and 174.74 drivers but there are many also for whom these drivers did not work!
MSI knows about this anti-aliasing issue, as they sent me a BIOS update which was meant to fix the anti-aliasing issue. It didn't fix the problem as you may have guessed. So I got back to them but they still haven't gotten back to me. Even NVIDIA, I sent my issue to their customer service like thrice and each time they said that they had forwarded my complaint to the level two technical support and haven't gotten back for over a month now. I'll ask my friend to create an account here and post his reply...

At the moment I have overclocked my card to 700/1040MHz. Will I be able to overclock this much after that BIOS flash? I am asking this because my card and its BIOS is designed to overclock and by flashing a Gainward BIOS I don't want to loose that feature!

Re:GeForce 8800 GT and anti-aliasing bug needing BIOS tweak? - 2008/04/19 02:45The BIOS will have no real affect on how well your hardware overclocks as long as it isn't an old BIOS with bugs. You can flash the BIOS to 100/50MHz from 850/4000MHz if you wanted, it doesn't matter what the card is running at right now, that's what you are changing. You simply overwrite the old clocks with the new ones and upon the next reboot it will start with the new clock speeds. Nobody can guarantee that you will be able to overclock the same as before after the flash, but there is no reason why you shouldn't unless the memory timings are tighter on the new BIOS.

Strange logic you apply here, cause you could just have tried the BIOS and checked if it solved the issue or not. And yes you can that lower clocked BIOS and if the issue is resolved you just use NiBiTor to change, so increase the clock speed to the MSI settings. Still I can only thing that it would be a funny fix with the BIOS, and might only work in relation to a certain driver version...

Really your statement and logic makes no sense at all, firstly all GeForce 8800 GT BIOS's are the same for a certain version, secondly there are no BIOS designed for overclocking, they are just set at higher speeds, which you can do with any BIOS. What you got on your card is the standard MSI BIOS, which has just higher clocks set in the BIOS and that is 2 seconds work by using NiBiTor... And yes again the Gainward standard version you can overclock to 750-800MHz...

I have never flashed a BIOS before in my life and didn't want anything wrong to happen with my card. That's why I was asking all of this just to be on the safe side. Sorry if you found it stupid. I am not very good at flashing BIOS so I was just doing what the instructions that came with my BIOS told me to do. It said to download nvFlash, I did that. So I made a bootable disk with my BIOS, nvFlash files and a boot file image that I found on some site. Though I don't think its a correct one as it was from Dell's forums.
On reboot the disk loads and DOS Caldera or something like that opens. Some text passes by then I am prompted to type. So my command is than the normal flash command, though whenever I type this it says command or filename not recognised. Please help me out guys, thank you! "nvflash -4 -5 -6 G92-New.bin"
