Re:GeForce 8800 GT and anti-aliasing bug needing BIOS tweak? - 2008/04/28 18:59
Anish wrote: I was using a bootable CD to flash the BIOS, and whenever I reboot it opens Caldera DOS. Nothing mentioning nvFlash firmware opens up. Okay, I'll try using my pendrive then and I'll format it and put the nvFlash and BIOS on it, then set boot priority to USB. That's all right? Or something else need be done? Well that Caldera stuff is because you used a Dell boot image, which I don't know why you did that cause flashing with a bootable CD is so annyoing. Just take a floppy or a USB drive and try as such, much easier and there you can just put plain and simple Ms-DOS on it, which is much better.
Another thing, I am not making a big mess out of this thing dude, am just trying to solve my problem. Many people have fixed this anti-aliasing problem using the BIOS fix! Don't start an argument, as you very clause of going just that one step too far. First of all, you came to our forums and claim you have an issue with the anti-aliasing and just frankly won't believe us, secondly you state your friend has fixed it with a BIOS flash, so you could just have done the same with some help from your friend. And lastly, I am not convinced at all that this BIOS is really a fix and we have asked alread to share the BIOS so we can check it, but haven't seen it yet. So fine if you want to start a discussion, but first do all we ask? It is very easy, and we just look for that... And after that we can really say if the BIOS flash is a way forward or not, that's it...
