Crap! The card is actually dead and it's stopping the computer from booting. I tried it in several systems and it keeps doing the same thing, so I cannot reflash it.
Well if you tried in several system, did those have a different chipset? Just wondering as I know the Intel chipsets are the best to try a non functioning graphics card and to try to reflash. But I guess you have tried it all by now...

Re:Restoring the XFX GeForce 8800 GTX board's original BIOS? - 2008/05/03 02:50 It's a shame you can't swap out a graphics card BIOS chip like you can on a motherboard. Cause that would have certainly made a difference if you could to get the card going again.

Well that would indeed have been nice but that would just be looking for more trouble for ATI and NVIDIA in the end. But there is a way to somehow cut the BIOS chip short and to flash it back though it requires grounding of one of the BIOS chip pins. Some guys have done it in the past with success, though I would need to find back the thread about that...

Re:Restoring the XFX GeForce 8800 GTX board's original BIOS? - 2008/05/04 03:50 Well, all systems I tried had Intel chipsets. About the alternate flashing technique, that's interesting... When you remember it I'd be glad to try or forward it to a technician. From all the forums I posted you guys are helping me the most. Thanks again!

Re:Restoring the XFX GeForce 8800 GTX board's original BIOS? - 2008/05/04 11:34 Well, having done a search on our forums I have found back the following about the alternate method by grounding the BIOS chip somehow. So this is how you can resolve this, by first checking your BIOS chip. Once done, you locate the datasheet by typing the EEPROM chip number into Google. Ground them by using tweezers connecting both by the tweezer. Then you boot the computer, and you will hear three beeps if you were succesful in grounding the two pins.

Then you neede to make sure you have the floppy set through "autoexec.bat" which will automatically flash the graphics card at the last step of the startup of the computer. And after that let the computer restart, but I think it did restart it myself. Welcome your graphics card with open arms and embrace. Well that is what I just got hold of and you can also read some more on the below link.
