CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/04/06 23:14 Hi, I have been learning as much as I can about these BIOS's but have hit a wall. I have just finished reading another post from a person here with the Dell M1730 SLI laptop. I have an SLI but currenty only one GTX. My problem is the VID table is weird. I mean there is just one dropdown menu on this BIOS voltage area. I tried to copy the VID table from the Dell and my card didn't like it and froze my computer.

I am trying to get it so I can use 1.10V like with the Dell laptop. I have already got it working with 1.05V but it was an option on the BIOS from the start. Why is it when I go into the voltage table editor it doesn't reflect at all what's in the BIOS voltage table? And why is there only one option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying for a month flashing like mad but can't see to decypher what's going on compared to the Dell's.

I also changed the voltage table just to include the 1.10V and it didn't work either. The problem I can see is that with other cards I have done, when I look in the voltage table I see several instances and then in the editor I see the same information. Now in the CLEVO GeForce 8800M GTX BIOS I see only one dropdown with a whole bunch of options in the voltage table. And in the editor I see nothing that represents what I seen in the table. So I'm confused. Please someone enlighten me, thanks...

Re:CLEVO D901C flashing GeForce 8800M GTX, need some help? - 2008/04/07 09:17 Don't compare the GeForce 8800M GTX with the SLI version as it is different and the BIOS's are not interchangeable. The SLI version of the GeForce 8800M GTX is like what we would call a GX2 version but than for a laptop. And for those SLI versions it comes with two BIOS's which are almost identical and offer the voltage change. Now having done a quick check on your BIOS it is different so don't apply the same logic. Secondly you will need to have some patience as I will check it but it will take some time...

Cause in this case it normally could follow the same implementation as for the Dell config. But I need both your BIOS's of this SLI setup.

Well I am still checking it and and comparing, but there are quite some differences and it seems as the single GeForce 8800M GTX is not the same as for the SLI config, and that alone will already cause the biggest issue to flash the BIOS from Dell. So just to be save you CLEVO is equipped with just a single GeForce 8800M GTX?

Well I don't care, and sorry for saying so promptly but that us what already enough guys have said and after doing as I wanted the BIOS's are different. So to be able to really make out that the CLEVO laptop SLI config looks the same as the Dell on, I would need both BIOS's. So can you use nvFLash and make a backup of both BIOS's and provide them in this thread for validation? With what I currently saw, I would not try the Dell BIOS's as they are too different.

Good, as that explains the difference with Dell, as the Dell version is an SLI config from the start and that means not really the same as what you have and therefore the BIOS difference. On the voltages so far I don't have that good news as it is different from the Dell version and so far I don't think much is possible, though still working on it.
