EVGA e-GeForce 9600 GT SSC, with an newer BIOS available? - 2008/04/08 18:39 Hi all, I'm new here and I have the EVGA e-GeForce 9600 GT SSC 512MB edition video card while running Windows Vista 32-bit. I noticed a new BIOS download which is available with version 62.94.11.00.07. And my current BIOS is version 62.94.11.00.01. Should I update? Sorry for newbie question and thanks for any help.

Re:EVGA e-GeForce 9600 GT SSC, with an newer BIOS available? - 2008/04/08 19:39 Well, our golden rule is, if it ain't broken don't fix. And that means if you hav eno issues with the card with the current BIOS is makes no sense to flash it as it will give any performance gains really it might just fix minor for some systems. But it would be good if you could backup the original BIOS of the card and share it with us so that we can compare it with this newer BIOS.

First you don't need a floppy drive at all to make a backup, there are actually several ways to dump the BIOS very fact from within Windows by using the NiBiTor or GPU-Z programs. So I would suggest you do that and get us your original BIOS. Secondly what you can also use is nvFlash with a bootable DOS media, meaning a bootable USB memory stick in your case as you don't have a floppy drive. But try first with NiBiTor or GPU-Z to backup the BIOS, as those work from within windows, just make sure you use the latest versions.
