Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2008/03/06 00:00 Hi, it's me again. I tried to overclock the core and shaders individually, I left the shaders at 1725MHz and memory at 1920MHz, and now the core speed is stable at 780MHz. I use a water block and 1.10V. Has my card been blessed by the pope or something? Mmm, and 790MHz seems to be max.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2008/03/06 17:34 Hi again, just wondering if this is possible? I even seen that 1.30V on the core, it is all edited by NiBiTor. Just wondering is it possible via software to change the GPU voltage? And one more thing in voltage table editor is it possible?

Nice stuff mate, blessed I wouldn't know but don't forget that some have even been able to go till 800Mhz core and running stable... But certainly your 780MHz is very good to excellent. Great stuff indeed, well done.

Well I saw the image though as it is not as image attached it is removed... From it I saw that the Extra mode is shown to run at 1.20V. Now I can easily tweak any BIOS to show 1.20V or any voltage that you want, and that is just a cosmetic change it doesn't mean it runs at 1.20V. This one is fake as the GeForce 8800 GT runs max at 1.10V via a BIOS tweak and any hardware modification would not show as 1.20V in any software. So no you can't tweak the GeForce 8800 GT to run at 1.30V, the maximum is 1.10V via a BIOS tweak.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2008/03/06 21:24 I agree with you about that is cosmetic, but why there is a jump in temp level when adjusting 1.30V via voltage table? It jumps from 65°C in idle to 75°C with fan speed at 30%. On games I run them all at 70% fan speed my temps reach 80-90°C is that normal on clocks 734/2016MHz with shader at 1836MHz?

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2008/03/07 19:27 Well I don't know what you exactly did, as I didn't see your BIOS yet but maybe you can share your tweaked BIOS and then I can check. What I think it is, is because you modified the VID linked to 1.10V to 1.30V as label but also selected that it means that you are increasing from the default 1.05V to 1.10V and that can give such an increase as you should adapt the fan speed as well accordingly to about 75% to keep the same temps...

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2008/03/08 12:59 Okay, well here is my BIOS file, so the edited one which you can check and let me know what you think or what this 1.30V now does and how it was tweaked.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2008/03/09 10:20 Really, I don't know but we have explained already several and several time the logic of the NVIDIA voltage table and VID channels. Your BIOS and voltage will not be running at 1.30V at all, and plain and simple because the 1.30V is just the label of the VID 03, and VID 03 is know by the card as 1.10V and not 1.30V. So even if you give it a label of 2.50V it will still be 1.10V. The VID xx controls the voltage, but to make it easy we have actually also given the opportunity to label the VID level, but it is a label only and nothing more.

So just to confirm the VID 03, will only give 1.10V so you better set back the label the way it was to stop the confusion. An just for the record also RivaTuer works with the VID levels, but show the label on the report and in tis case the label is wrong so RivaTuner is just showing that wrong label. I hope that is clear now once again, and I hope others will also read this again though we have explained already a lot of times.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2008/03/09 11:55 I know I asked you before but can you please tweak my BIOS for relax timings... I'll be so thankful, my original BIOS was attached earlier on this thread.

Well all is present in NiBiTor to do so, and as you know every card is different so even if I would tweak your timings it might just not work for your card. That is also why you can do it with NiBiTor and test it before you actually flash your card with new timings. So you will need to do it yourself, but you can ask if you don't know how...
