Re:ASUS Striker Extreme, an nForce 680i SLI and ESA support? - 2008/03/25 11:25
Hi again... Just received this email from ASUS support. Does that mean the Striker don't support it? Or I need three USB ports to support it? See answer frrom the ASUS technical support.
Firstly, ESA is a certification which is related to a whole system. As a mainboard vendor, ASUS don't provide the related certification. NVIDIA chipsets such as the nForce 650i, 680i, 750i, 780i, 780a and 790i all support ESA, which means the you can build a ESA system based on these platform. Otherwise, to setup an ESA system, the mainboard need to reserve headers to support three USB ports for ESA power, ESA cooler and ESA chassis. For display card, you could select display cards which support 2-Way or 3-Way SLI. Below is the ESA website, just for your reference. I hope it's helpful.
