NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.8 software your feedback? - 2008/02/22 20:35Here we go, a new version is again available. We did get access to the mid-range GeForce 9 series BIOS's and with the help of xtremetheme we have a new update to support these and some fixes. As well as the extra support for low level fan speed adjusting and temperature compensation value linked to the G94 based graphics cards. Upcoming features or things you would like to see... Let us know and we will see what is possible and/or feasible.
And please provide your feedback... That way we will be able to support you even better! Also provide your original BIOS as that help a lot to get thing better supported in the next versions!

The temp issue in temp monitoring previously adressed in NiBiTor v3.7 is still present. If I take GPU temp it is consistent from NVIDIA monitor, RivaTuner and ATITool. The readings are 6°C below with GPU-Z which should be the same with the NiBiTor behaviour. However I found the desired settings for the fan speed IC in NiBiTor new version by trial and error and it works based on RivaTuner. I use the frequency tweaking of the GeForce 8800 and it works great. I tried to use the voltage modification with no success. I tried to use the frequency tweaks, it works but I did not find a better balance compare to stock. Congratulations for all this great work!

Sorry, but I really don't get what the issue is and if there is really an issue at all, cause NiBiTor is not doing any temp reading as such... The tools allows you to tweak the BIOS, and can only tweak if the card also supports the tweak, and that means in your case the voltage modification will not work on the old GeForce 8800 GTS as the voltage circuitry of this card know only one voltage level, so the BIOS is not to blaim butt he PCB and voltage circuitry...

This is not an MXM module, but a soldered GPU on a notebook mainboard. I have extracted the BIOS from the main BIOS module, and can open it in NiBiTor v3.8, but of course it shows unknown for vendor and I have to select card type as GeForce 8 series, and the original BIOS is attached

So we will take a look at this and see to add the required support for the next version of NiBiTor.

It is not possible to read the BIOS, etc. Well just for your reference the Vista 64-bit is more secure and due to that each software that wants to get direct access to hardware, and that is what is needed need to register with Microsoft to be allowed to do so. Now as you can figure this costs money, and this program is free. We will not invest money in Microsoft as we should as the program is just fine for Vista 64-but just Microsoft policy is crap and screws up the direct access. Now if you guys want to pay this fee for us be our guest, or let us know if you want us to open a donation bucket for it.
