GeForce 8800 GTS, and BIOS with more performance levels? - 2008/03/01 14:33 Hey, this is my BIOS when I read the BIOS into NiBiTor, meaning an GeForce 8800 GTS which is clocked at default clock speed, so at 513/1584MHz with the shader at 1188MHz. Then I changed the core to 700MHz, the shader to 1700MHz and the memory to 2000MHz and flashed this BIOS. This works great. But now I want to use more active performance levels. But I'm not having a PCI video card so I can't screw things up. Can someone help me how to get more performance levels without screwing things up.

Re:GeForce 8800 GTS, and BIOS with more performance levels? - 2008/03/01 15:12 Sorry, but your topic has changed has it has nothing with what you had mentioned before as this is not a problem, this is just you asking for how to do it. Well you must know that the GeForce 8800 series don't work very well with more performance levels and that is why NVIDIA only use the 3D mode on the GeForce 8800 GTS. However with NiBiTor you can easily change to more performance levels, and you can't do much wrong, just make sure you don't put strange clock speeds.

Re:GeForce 8800 GTS, and BIOS with more performance levels? - 2008/03/01 15:27 Ah okay. I thought it was something in NiBiTor that it only saw 3D. Then I'm not going to add more performance levels, cause now everything is working. Now I'm testing my overclock with one hour 3DMark06 and Call of Duty 4 for an hour. You know another great program to test my overclock? Cause sometimes my 3DMark06 does everything good but then when I play Call of Duty 4 the whole game crashes which means the overclock is too high.

Re:GeForce 8800 GTS, and BIOS with more performance levels? - 2008/03/02 10:48 Yeah, benchmark programs are not everything and 3DMark06 is getting older. So the best way is to test with some newer games like Call of Duty 4 or Crysis, and of course once later this year 3DMark Vantage comes out.
