GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS, history what is new?! - 2008/01/06 09:23 Hello, is there any history what is newer with the GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS? Good way is to include this information in the text file. Know anywhere how long this cards supported with new BIOS versions?

Well hard to tell as that is something we never get with the BIOS's so we just check if the BIOS is really an original one and that is it. The main thing is that this one is newer and would most likely fix certain things, but what exactly you will need to ask GeCube or ATI... But in the end if you don't have issue with your card, our main rule applies, if it ain't broken don't fix.

Re:GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS, history what is new?! - 2008/02/29 15:22 Hello, I found a newer BIOS for the GeCube Radeon HD 3870, this BIOS have a little newer version than Rev.02. Can I use this BIOS stable for my card? Why do they have 810MHz and 2400MHz? I have 777MHz and 2252MHz. My GeCube Radeon HD 3870 is the non X-Turbo.

Re:GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS, history what is new?! - 2008/02/29 21:02 Well the links have been removed, as they are not paying us to point others to their site and we are non profit website. But having checked what you wrote and checked those BIOS's, we can confirm that those are modified BIOS's. The GeCube Radeon HD 3870 is clocked default at 777/2252MHz and the X-Turbo or also the OC version is clocked at 810/2252MHz, all other BIOS are not original ones but have been tweaked.

Re:GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS, history what is new?! - 2008/03/01 13:42 Hello, thank you for your work and upload of the new BIOS's. My question is can I flash my card with the OC version, namely the Rev.03 from the downloads section? My card is non Turbo-X version, so the standard one. I have the default Rev.02 BIOS on it. It have a new version number, so little bugfixes. I know that my card will be loudly with OC BIOS, but is it stable with this BIOS? Is there a way to get a better cooler for this card?

Re:GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS, history what is new?! - 2008/03/01 13:51 I would say that you can, but what we always advice is that you first overclock your graphics card using RivaTuner, ATITool or PowerStrip to the clock settings of the Turbo-X version, so meaning 810/2252MHz, is that works it is normally save to try the BIOS flash to the OC version BIOS.

Re:GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS, history what is new?! - 2008/03/01 13:59 Hello, thanks... I will be test RivaTuner, I heard is worked very good. An other question, is there are a modified ATI driver than Omega or DNA? But with modified Catalyst 8.2 drivers or take the original only? This version is stable on my Windows XP.

Re:GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS, history what is new?! - 2008/03/01 14:44 Well modified drivers don't make that much different, except slightly faster or slightly better image quality. But I wouldn't bother too much with that as overclocking always has better and greater results.

Re:GeCube Radeon HD 3870 Rev.02 BIOS, history what is new?! - 2008/04/22 20:17 Hello,

I think that the Bios for GeCube HD3870 Rev 03 is an fake,
because the vendor is changed to GeCube.

But on the official forum:
http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=260&threadid=94540&enterthread=y

tell a moderator that they have only 1002 Vendor from ATI.
