Gainward BLISS 8800 GT 1GB Golden Sample, and my system?! - 2008/02/10 11:26 Hi guys, need a little advice if possible. I am seriously thinking about treating myself to a Gainward BLISS 8800 GT 1GB Golden Sample graphics card. There's one thing that bothers me, my system is quite old-ish and I was wondering if the performance of such a powerful card would be impededed or bottlenecked by my other PC components and should I have to update some of them to have full performance from my new card. Or would it be okay as they are. Many thanks!

System Configuration...
- AMD Athlon X2 4800+ Dual Core 2.4GHz
- ASUS A8N-SLI SE Mainboard
- 4x 1GB Corsair DDR Memory
- 2x 74GB WD Raptors RAID0 Config
- Corsair 620W Power Supply

Re:Gainward BLISS 8800 GT 1GB Golden Sample, and my system?! - 2008/02/10 13:52 Well I think that somehow the processor power you have now will not be able to fully unlock the GeForce 8800 GT graphics card. So in that light yes the GeForce 8800 GT will do good but I think won't be fully come to its rights. We have tested it on a Core 2 Duo E6700 which runs at 2.66GHz but is considered a lot than the older AMD Athlon X2 processors. So maybe check first a bit on the difference to make your decision?
