Using RivaTuner, and GTS about increasing the fan speed?! - 2007/03/04 15:48 Hi, I am using RivaTuner to adjust my fan speed on my NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS. How do I make it run at 100%. I went to Power User then the Fan Setting which is the 3F one. What do I change it to and what do they mean. If I type 100 does that mean 100%. How does it work? Please provide some steps...

Re:Using RivaTuner, and GTS increasing the fan speed?! - 2007/03/04 19:24 In the Driver Level Overclocking portion in RivaTuner, it will bring up a Fan Speed tab.

Re:Using RivaTuner, and GTS increasing the fan speed?! - 2007/03/04 19:34 I don't see the driver thing. Can you please give me step by step instructions as I am not good with this.

Re:Using RivaTuner, and GTS increasing the fan speed?! - 2007/03/04 20:09 When you start up RivaTuner, you are in the main tab, now look down you will see Driver Settings and a drop down box. It will have ForceWare detected, to the right in that same box you will see an arrow click on it. Then you be giving a few more options, click on the graphics card looking icon which is Driver Level Overclocking and Adjustments. Then you will be giving a new window first tab is Overclocking next is Fan Speed. Click on the Fan Speed tab, now you will see 3 sliders adjust all of these to 100%, all the way to the right. Then look down you will see a check box apply fan settings at startup check it.

The individual fan controls are as follows, the top standard 2D. When you are browsing windows surfing the net is actually 2D operation. The middle low power 3D is throtteling when your card got way beyond heat specifications and it has been forced to drop clock speeds to attempt to cool it. Always set this to 100% and lets hope it never uses this. Bottom performance 3D when you are gaming or rendering things in 3D mode. You may want to play with these settings to give you quietness and coolness but remember sacrafice noise for cooling. And noise is better than overheating the graphics card!

Re:Using RivaTuner, and GTS increasing the fan speed?! - 2007/03/04 22:54 Well I don't have a Fan Speed tab. Do I have to enable overclocking? Or am I missing something?

Re:Using RivaTuner, and GTS increasing the fan speed?! - 2007/03/05 00:14 No you shouldn't have to. These tabs work seperately so no need to enable the overclocking at all.

Re:Using RivaTuner, and GTS increasing the fan speed?! - 2007/03/05 00:22 Yeah, but when I go there, to the video card thing the only options are overclocking, compatiblility and overlay. So I click customize from the main and then click the video card picture.
