GeForce 6800 Ultra, and some annoying SLI config problem? - 2008/02/03 20:53 Okay so here is where I stand and I have two GeForce 6800 Ultra's both with 256MB. And a WinFast nForce 4 with SLI. But I can't seem to get both Ultra's working at the same time either for SLI or dual cards and multi monitors? One is an ASUS GeForce 6800 Ultra and the other is a generic? Unsure the manufacturer of this card. But It is a GeForce 6800 Ultra card. I have used an EVGA e-GeForce 6800 GS and this Ultra card prior and it worked fine.

Anyways, I have been able to boot with the card SLI but Windows locks up on me before the logging? Could it be a NVIDIA Ultra BIOS issue? I have an AMD Athlon X2 4200 and 2GB of DDR ram. Can someone help me to get these card in SLI or do they have to be a ID matched pairs for these card to work?

But okay, now you can not have SLI and multi monitor with the GeForce 6800 series when have two cards. It is either SLI or multi monitors, and there is nothing you can do about it as it is a known missing feature with those cards. And to get these to work in SLI, they need to have the exact same BIOS if else the SLI will never work. Yeah that are the sub-optimal features of the first SLI ready series from NVIDIA...
