GeForce 8800 GT, and some ASUS A8N-SLI mainboard issues? - 2008/01/30 12:33 Hello, I've a problem with my card supporting my motherboard. My GeForce 8800 GT only works with BIOS version 1008 or maybe lower. Otherwise I get no video to my monitor with four beeps which means can't intialize video card. I tried the Gen1 BIOS from ASUS which didn't work. The weird thing is that GPU-Z couldn't give information about the card, only G92 I thought with the Gen1 BIOS, maybe I did it wrong. If I now look in GPU-Z I see that the PCI Express is running at 8x. Does anyone of you know how to solve this problem. Thank you...

The ASUS A8N-SLI comes with a nForce chipset from NVIDIA and should work fine with PCI Express, and therefore you wouldn't need a Gen1 BIOS at all. And since NVIDIA states the issue is not really with the graphics card but with the mainboard really, this is a great case to see how NVIDIA will solve this issue for ASUS as this is now a NVIDIA chipset with an NVIDIA based graphics card...
