Re:PowerColor Radeon X1650 problem, display out of range? - 2008/01/18 22:14 Eliassje wrote:
If have checked the card at my work and got the same problem. So I send it back to the shop and let it repair. Probably they need to change the chip. Thanks for your help...
Euh, sorry but that they won't do at all. They actually will just sent it back to PowerColor and wait for a replacement to provide to you. The current video cards that don't work as they should they check and if really bad they just throw it away. Fixing a new chip on it will cost more then just giving a new card.

Re:PowerColor Radeon X1650 problem, display out of range? - 2008/01/19 13:01 I mean that they send it to PowerColor of course. I don't think it would be a replacement. I work at Gigabyte and my job is to repair mainboards and some times video cards. I just started there, this is my second month. But in this case it doesn't help to warm up the chip again. They don't have the ATI chip I need for the card at my work. The problem is at work most people talk only Chinese or Twainese and the English is not so good.

Re:PowerColor Radeon X1650 problem, display out of range? - 2008/02/02 12:00 Well that is your view but I can tell you most returned graphics card don't get a new chip on it but rather get a new card. The old card get's tested and if it doesn't work as it should it goes in the recycle bin and that is it. That is cheaper then trying to fix is as a Radeon X1650 isn't really worth much anymore.
