Hi, just wondering are you using automatic or dynamic mode of the fan speed control option? And what values did you set exactly so we can have a look at this?
Anyways, I found my favorite settings for the fan speed IC in NiBiTor v3.7 by trial and error. I ended up with the automatic setting using T min set at 55°C and one should know that there is a core thermal compensation of 8°C being added to this T min of 55°C. So my fan speed starts cranking up from 63°C and not 55°C with a min duty cycle of 20%.

I set the T range slope to 53,33°C so that the duty cycle rises almost linearly with the core temperature, one % by one °C. However I still don't understand how one could calculate the behavior of the duty cyle from the chosen settings. I had to flash 5 different BIOS versions just to find out.

Great update, thanks for the new version of NiBiTor with all the changes around the fan speed setting. Very nice implementation and excellent to tweak the settings.
Well you can thank xtremeth as he is the real coder behind NiBiTor and doing great things. I can't do it all and he has been an awesome asset and the best guy to work with in getting the best NVIDIA tweak tool for all BIOS's...

Sniff, thanks that is so nice of you. And as extra info, you can see the effects of each parameter more detailed in the ADT7473 datasheet which you can find via Google.

Well, when I set the T min at 55°C the fan speed acually ramps up when the temp hits 56°C, checked with Everest GPU temp monitor function.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.7 software your feedback? - 2007/12/29 14:25 So here you go the details about the changes in NiBiTor and also the changes reflected in RivaTuner. And to show the behavior during game play I have included the monitoring when playing Crysis, so meaning that during the game the core and memory clock speed will increase which has an impact on the temperature and fan speed. And, thank you very much, quite interesting this datasheet!

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.7 software your feedback? - 2007/12/29 15:40 The thermal compensation value is different for different cards and also stored in the BIOS. I will add function for it in next version of NiBiTor software so you can also tweak that.

Excellent mate, thanks for your great support and sharing some knowledge on this and looking already forward to the next version. It is becoming a quite interesting and full of features version, which is always great. Thanks!

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.7 software your feedback? - 2007/12/30 21:41 Hi, it was the first time I used NiBiTor v3.7 and since I'm a power user it wasn't long before I saw how it works. However I couldn't get to fix my terrible fan issue and I wonder if you would know how. I created a thread on the forum of a popular online store. It's very detailed and I'm sure you'll understand what I mean. If you get to fix my issue, you're a god.

Some feedback on the new version, there need to be more help inside the next version, specialy for the fan settings but also for the clock rates tab. Let me tell what exactly. I know how to set the boot frequencies but how exactly do I set the 2D and 3D frequencies? I don't understand why there's the Extra mode, set at 600/1800MHz but all other modes are set to zero.

Now on the temperature tab, under fan speed I guess I know what 2D and 3D stand for, but what the hell is Extra and Throttle? And inside fan speed IC there is on the bottom, informations to say what the values are for... But if you choose dynamic speed in order to enable T high, T operating and T low) there is absolutly no information saying what the hell those settings are doing.

Well if you want us to look at that you will need to create you own new thread on this forums in the right section, meaning of the video card itself. We don't start looking at other forums and sites to read and post there the answer. That is why we have our forums and that is what you will have to use. We are need visitors so that our sponsors are happy, so we can pay for all hosting costs so start a new thread about your problem and fix you are looking for...

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.7 software your feedback? - 2008/02/08 20:03 I'm trying to change the voltage levels of my GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB from EVGA... After saving and reopening the BIOS I get data position/length out of data bounds. The first time I click on the voltages tab. This doesn't happen with the orignial BIOS... Is this issue know? thanks!
