GeForce 7600 GS, upgrade but facing issues with drivers? - 2007/12/16 06:17
I was wanting to upgrade my system from the GeForce FX5700 LE card to the GeForce 7600 GS. My motherboard is an AGP8x and I cleared the drivers and installed the new card which requires a plug from my power supply. I then proceed to install the drivers for the new card. Before the install completes, the screen goes black, sits there for a minute, then the system reboots itself. It then pops up showing that new hardware has been installed showing the new card and asks for the drivers again.
I install them again, the screen goes black and the system reboots as before, but now, after the Windows XP logo goes off and the sign on screen is suppose to appear it doesn't, it just goes black and then reboots itself. I'm lost. I put the GeForce FX5700 LE back in and all is fine, and I am using Windows XP SP2.
