Radeon 9800 PRO, from ATI having problem on AGP setting? - 2007/10/17 21:33 Hi, lets go right to the spot. I have a Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB from ATI, with 2.8ns Samsung memories. I was playing Pro Evo Soccer 2007, and I realize some frame rate drops that never happens. So I go to check my settings, and at SmartGart, I get that AGP speed set at 8x, with Fast Writes, AGP Write and Read being disabled and PCI settings turned on. So strange. So, I've tried to flash my BIOS with a BIOS that fit my board, and I did it. It was okay, but the AGP settings still off.

So, I decide to check DXDiag, and I found that every DirectX setting is disabled, and can't be enabled. My mainboard is an ASUS K8V-X SE with KT800 Pro chipset. I've tried to re-install the VIA 4-in-1 drivers, and reinstall DirectX, but that wasn't effective. What more can I do? Reinstall everything again? Flash with some other BIOS? Any opinion will be apreciated! Thanks!

Re:Radeon 9800 PRO, from ATI having problem on AGP setting? - 2007/10/18 06:49 Well, I can nearly guarantee it's something with your motherboard. So reset your mainboard BIOS, and if that doesn't fix it then we can go from there.

Well I would as well think it has something to do with the mainboard settings, so I would suggest to install the latest mainboard BIOS and see what that gives and reset it. If that doesn't do it then I would re-install the operating system from scratch. But I doubt it has anything to do with the graphics card and I would as well suggest to flash back the original BIOS on it.

Maybe you can check your Radeon 9800 PRO on someone else computer and see if okay or not. Do you know how to clear your CMOS of your mainboard? Cause that I would do as well and to start from scratch.

Re:Radeon 9800 PRO, from ATI having problem on AGP setting? - 2008/01/15 12:01 Well okay, I think we now have provided what should be done, but unless we don't get new feedback I would consider this closed as we shouldn't just repeat the actions or solutions once again...
