Koolance water cooling system, and facing algae problem? - 2007/10/15 06:10 I've got a small problem an I need professional help with. I have an Exos-2 that has been setup for about a year. Today I discovered that algae has got a little foothold in the reservoir. I'm taking suggestions for how to remove it. I don't think one can take the reservoir apart, but if one has, feel free to chime in. What I'm thinking is trying to flush it with a bleach water solution. Any suggestions would be great.

Re:Koolance water cooling system, and facing algae problem? - 2007/12/04 21:35 Hi, I don't think using a bleach solution will do the cooling system any good as the bleach may corrode the rubber seals and pump mechanism. What solution did you use to set the system up with? It is usually recommended in the industry that like a motor vehicle you use a deionised water and coolant, like antifreeze solution.

Re:Koolance water cooling system, and facing algae problem? - 2007/12/07 16:20 Drain your system and refil with a mixture, 50/50 of white vinegar and distilled water. Run the cooling loop by itself without the computer on for about a hour or so to clean out the junk. Drain and flush with clean distilled water run as above. Then refil your loop with coolant, that should take care of your problem. You may have to repeat the cleaning process a time or 2 depending on the build-up in the loop.
