Quadro FX4500 workstation card, giving 3D major problems? - 2007/11/27 03:07 I have a problem getting this card to work wih 3D, everytime I boot up my computer everything is fine, but when I run a program that uses 3D features such as a game, I get tearing and all kind of weird stuff on the screen. When I turn off my computer for like 5 mintues or so and turn it back on, everything is back to normal until I run a 3D program that uses the 3D feature, could it be overheating?

It is not designed for gaming? Just making sure about that. Secondly you got this card as a new card or already a long or second hand? Was the card doing the same all the time? If it is a new one then I really wouldn't bother much but return it to the shop and get a replacement, most likely it has a memory chip issue giving artifacts at default operation.

Re:Quadro FX4500 workstation card, giving 3D major problems? - 2007/11/28 02:25 Well, I removed the heatsink and fan assembly and installed a water cooling unit on the board. The only thing that I think is not cooling might be the memory, cause the GPU block only cools the CPU and I had to use ram heatsinks to cool the memory. The ram heatsinks doesn't have any thermal pads on them. Could that be the problem?

Re:Quadro FX4500 workstation card, giving 3D major problems? - 2007/12/06 03:25 Well it worked for a while when I have water cooling all setup and then in a week, I get the artifacts on the screen and the 3D feature doesn't seem to work. Plus do you guys have the PNY Quadro FX4500 BIOS lying around? I might try flashing it.

Re:Quadro FX4500 workstation card, giving 3D major problems? - 2007/12/31 13:06 Strange, but that sounds more like an issue with the card and you might just need to return it to get a replacement and since those are very expensive cards that is what I should do as soon as possible. An no we don't have the BIOS laying around, and we really don't think that reflashing will fix anything...
