Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/27 22:09 Thanks for explaining. I took my original BIOS now and added the 1.1V at Extra. But there is no better overclock after that. Attached it again, perhaps you have got the time to check it. I do not want to realize, that there is absolutely nothing to do.

Hello, I have a Point of View GeForce 8800GT 512MB and I reached 700/1960MHz with shader of 1740MHz without modifying the original BIOS. I changed my extended voltage to 1.1V and now my card has bumped to 750/2000MHz with shader of 1800MHz.
Well I can tell one thing, you have got quite a good card as it is able to do 750MHz at 1.1V for the core which is very good. Tweaking it more is not really possible on the core as via the BIOS you can only go upto 1.1V, but you could do some memory timing adjusting but that will change that much in real performance as you can already reach 2000MHz. You should consider yourself very lucky with such a good graphics card.

What do you mean now exactly that you can overclock better then with the original BIOS, meaning your non modfied original BIOS or compared to the already older modified BIOS? Cause it is not clear at all what you are comparing...

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/29 08:10 Sorry, I will try it once again. Trying to follow your advice I took my original BIOS and added only the 1.1V on Exact mode. The outcoming BIOS had already VID 00-03 are already at 0.95V, 1.00V, 1.05V and 1.10V. But unfortunately there is no better overclocking, meaning that 730/1990MHz with a shader of 1800MHz is the highest overclock I get stable what is not really so bad, but... Could you please check this updated tweaked BIOS? Did I forget anything? Thank you!

Well I did check the BIOS yesterday and nothing is wrong with it, it just means that your card can't do more. By the way if you want a higher core clock you need to lower the shader clock. Cause your shader clock is quite high, so lower that one and you might be able to hit 750MHz. So you really should play with having a less high shader, but getting a higher core clock speed.

Now just for info when you have a very good G92 chip then it won't matter much if you select the default 1.05V or the higher 1.10V, as it will perform just as good with no extra. While those with a less good one they will see some improvement by upping the voltage to 1.10V, that all is around the fact that the the difference between a binary 0 or 1 level is more clear for the chip.

If you want to ask something about the memory timings then you do it via the forums and not via a private message to myself. I don't handle such things if it can be done via the forums so that everyone can follow and learn. So you do it this way or you get nothing.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/29 21:45 Thank you so much for your good explanation! I will try it. I have received the BIOS of Zotac AMP! edition from Darkwing from Forumdeluxx in Germany. Perhaps you can add it in the downloads section. Some people will be interested. Thank you!

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/29 22:31 Great stuff mate, will be done later on as busy with some other stuff but really if you have any other original BIOS's from other forums like those please share as we can learn a lot of these BIOS's. Thanks again.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/30 15:27 Just to bring my involvement in this to a close. I posted up a while ago that a friend of mine was tweaking the BIOS on a card that he was keeping for me, namely a BFG GeForce 8800 GT and couldn't get it above 730/2000MHz with a shader clock of 1800MHz. I got it and slapped a Zalman VF1000-Cu on it, and it does 785/2015MHz with shader of 1950MHz now, and stock BIOS. Thanks for the advice anyway Mavke. Keep up the great work.

Hehe, excellent mate, that seems to be one of the best overclocks I have seen so far with the GeForce 8800 GT, so the next one that want to impress me has to hit 800MHz or more... But very nice results mate.
