Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 13:19Once again thanks Mavke for the BIOS, I have stayed with my orignal BIOS instead of the tweaked one but I highly recommend that anyone that doesn't have an e-GeForce 8800 GT SSC edtion to install it cause you will most likely get much better performace with a higher voltage. Thanks again, and if you have any more tweaks for the GeForce 8800 GT let me know as I will try them for you.

For instance your CPU is just not powerfull enough to provide the GeForce 8800 GT with enough data to process so your main weakness is the CPU which is impacting all the performance. Correct, you have to get your CPU at least up to 4.5GHz to get enough performance for your card or buy one of those new Inteel Core 2 Duo processors, so a dual or even a quad core. And then your 3DMark points will be better, but here is is certain the CPU is the bottleneck on the performance.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 15:20Hello, I'm Spanish, sorry by my bad English. I recently bought a XFX GeForce 8800 GT normal, with a Zalman VF1000. With Zalman and without it when I overclock up to 670MHz in some games when I am playing a bit, I get strange red fog and the systems stop. Seems to be a limitation in this card, but I try to up voltage in NiBiTor to 1.1V and didn't help. Temps never ups 55ºC. Can you help me? This is my original BIOS. Thanks! XFX GeForce 8800 GT 512MB Edition - Memory : 512MB - BUs Type : PCI Express

It's not GPU core related, but ram related. So lower your graphics card memory overclock. And best is to stay around 1900MHz and should be fine. Bye...

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 17:05Thanks! Are you sure we have the same problem? In Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 you git that too? I tried 1900MHz in memory and still the same. Do I have I a bad card?

Initially all seems good, then red garbage come to the screen and vertex go everywhere. I resolved this by decreasing the ram. Try at stock frequencies, if there is also a problem, then your card is damaged and you better return it and get a replacement.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 21:29Thanks, but it's strange that the problem is only in Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. For example in Crysis there is no problem.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 23:39I tried different configurations, and yes, if I put the memory to a max of 1880MHz all runs fine. In this moment I have overclocked the graphics card with 720MHz core and 1880MHz memory. Do you think the fact to cannot overclock memory above 1880MHz cause a noticeable loss in performance comparing for example in put this to 2000MHz ? I thought that this card can do 2000MHz in memory. Why not? Thanks!

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/11 01:03Hey folks, I've just registered to your site. I am a big fan of this site since my first steps with NiBiTor and nnFlash e.g. to modify my GeForce 6800 vanilla to a GeForce 6800 GT. But meanwhile we are talking about NiBiTor v3.5a now supporting a GeForce 8800 GT and I have got a little problem with it... Since I was used to being able to switch between 2D and 3D settings I got a litte upset about this new extra setting for my GeForce 8800 GT. By the way I got an EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT and I've attached a backup of the original BIOS for you as the download section doesn't feature the vanilla BIOS of the EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT yet. Back to the extra setting in NiBiTor...
Actually I would like to know if there was any chance to set up different profiles for 2D and 3D like I know it from my former GeForce 6800 and GeForce 7950 GT. To be precise it would be nice if I was able to put the voltage in 2D to 0.95V and lowest stable clock rates with a low fanspeed and on the other side put the voltage in 3D to 1.1V and maximum stable clock rates with a rather high fan speed.
Is that possible, or am I bound to that new extra setting in NiBiTor using a GeForce 8800 GT? Of course I have already tested a setting featuring my idea of a perfect BIOS. But my entries for 2D and 3D took no effect, I filled extra and Thrtl up with zeroes. The GeForce 8800 GT booted with some weired clock rates maybe some kind of fail safe settings.

Well now we are going to the next step which is about the memory timings and for that I think I do need the memory timings that the GeForce 8800 GT's are using, yes of several ones, so this can be checked out. This is best done via RivaTuner.
