Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 01:33Thanks Mavke, for the tweaked BIOS. I am downloading it now and updating my card will let you know the results in a few minutes. Hehe, done. Wow thank you so much, I just played Crysis and my frame rates went up by 6 frames and 3DMark06 score went up to from 10744 to 11163. The card is now running a lot faster and this is at stock settings I see all my games getting high frame rates. Any other tweak you have laying around there that you could send me?
By the way if you need me to run any benchmarks or tests just let me know what you want me to do and I will do it. I am now going to try to overclock it passed 760MHz core because that was the highest I could go before the BIOS tweak will keep you informed thanks again..0

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 02:15Euh, I already uploaded my original BIOS... If you could waste some time on it and tweak for me I appreciate it a lot. Yeah I flashed my BIOS, couldn't wait. Increased my core voltage to 1.1V and now it seems to stable at 725MHz, before it was 694MHz max.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 03:57The only thing that I can't do any more is overclock my GPU to high like I use to. Was able to overclock it to 760/2040MHz with shader of 1900MHz before the new tweaked BIOS. Now I can only get it to 720/2000MHz and shader of 1800MHz but still with the new tweaked BIOS I see better proformace than if I had it overclocked it to 760MHz. Like in Crysis I would never get the high frame rates that I get now.

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 04:52Okay, now I take it back I am sorry after installing my original BIOS back and overclocking my card to 760/2000MHz and shader 1900MHz and running crysis it can go faster at those clocked speed by 2 frame rates than with the tweak BIOS. Now I am going to run a benchmark for a long time to see if it is stable enough at those overclocked speeds if it is than the orignal BIOS runs better than and faster than the tweak BIOS. If it is not stable than the best thing to do is to go with the tweaked BIOS I will keep you posted.

Well a man has to sleep and that is what I have done the previous 8 hours, so if you are that impatience then you will not get much from me any more. But I see you have done what I did on these BIOS's, you raised the voltage from the standard 1.05V to 1.1V, which currently is a VID that is supported in the BIOS and it seems also be supported by the GeForce 8800 GT and therefore you can reach higher clock speeds. Just for reference the tweaked Zotac BIOS.

Okay mate, thanks for running those, but I think that your card is with the standard SCC BIOS and able to reach 760MHz will be one of the best cards around. Cause so far I haven't seen much guys going for above 700MHz with their GeForce 8800 GT. So the tweak is simple, we raise the voltage from 1.05V to 1.1V on the core. So in your case I think it doesn't mlake much difference as you are already at high clocks and temps are already higher, so by this 0.05V extra it might add extra heat and therefore not be able to clock that high...

Okay, I have also checked your BIOS and this one has just one strange thing as no voltage is actually set as active as far as we can see. So normally then it runs at the default which should be 1.05V. So here we first activated the voltage table and also set the voltage at 1.1V. Just see how high you can overclock with this extra 0.05V. Meaning first you see how far you get with your default BIOS and then with the new BIOS. BUt make sure to always start from the default voltage, so to reset your overclocking tool before flashing!

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 12:21I have just bought an Inno3D GeForce 8800 GT, read all the responses, and most of it is beyond me. My card is factory 600/1900MHz, have overclocked to 748MHz and 2132MHz stable, but card only gets 18500 on 3DMark03. I had a Radeon X1950 PRO Turbo, rated at 621/1486MHz, and it blitz all over this GeForce 8800, rest of computer, ordinary, Windaws XP SP2, 2GB DDR2, Pentium D 2.8GHz... Can anyone help?

Re:Who is owning a GeForce 8800 GT, and ready for tweaking? - 2007/11/10 12:42One question only why do you use 3DMark03? Why the hell in anyone even using it to report bad performance? Can you try 3DMark06 and a games like Crysis. Just download the demo and compare that way... If your GeForce 8800 GT get's only 18500 points in 3DMark03 it has more to with the other itels in your PC then anything else. For instance your CPU is just not powerfull enough to provide the GeForce 8800 GT with enough data to process so your main weakness is the CPU which is impacting all the performance.
