Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.2.1 Software Feedback... - 2007/02/02 12:22 Same thing I got that but if you try drivers Catalyst 6.11 the clocks are set like I set in the BIOS, but Catalyst 6.12 and 7.1 my clocks go lower than I flashed them. And does anyone know if the voltage bit in RaBiT works for the Radeon X1950 PRO PCI Express cards and if it does what could I set it to?

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.2.1 Software Feedback... - 2007/02/05 10:13 Hi all this is my first post here! I have a Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB AGP and RaBiT v2.2.1 did see correct my card but still with 256MB and not 512MB. And...is it possible to add voltage ajustmemt for memory? I can't overclock memory not even 1MHz (1404MHz default) without getting wierd colors even on desktop screen. So far tried overclocking the memory with CCC, ATI Tray Tools, ATITool and RaBiT.

With the CCC OverDrive it doesn't do anything but with others I can manage to overclock the core at least to 630MHz but memory overclocking is giving me bad colors as I said. Is it a voltage issue or something else? Thanks in advance!

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.2.1 Software Feedback... - 2007/02/07 15:29 All sorted had to do it in the 2D bit on the overclocking and its now sorted... Got now GPU at 620MHz and the memory at 730MHz (1460MHz effective). Now it reads right...

Changed BIOS Settings, Logging...

Core clock is 620.00 MHz
Memory clock is 730.00 MHz
Reference clock is 27.00 MHz

T = 0..120 °C, GPU = 620.00 MHz, Mem = 730.00 MHz

That could be the memory timings as well. If those are set too strict then even with giving more voltage to the memory it will solve nothing at all. Can you check which memory chips your card is using? Then we can look at the specifications and start to investigate it further.

Okay, I will. Must unplug the heatsink/fan first... And I will get back to you with the details. Thanks!

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.2.1 Software Feedback... - 2007/02/08 14:50 Hi all, I have just signed in to let my RaBiT feedback here. I have a Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 256MB PCI Express and I have the same problem. I'm not able to overclock this card. RaBiT doesn't work, infact when I flash the modded BIOS I get 574/1390MHz frequencies. ATITool, RivaTuner, all 3rd party utilities doesn't works on RAM. ATI's OverDrive causes screen flickering and artifacts, even with 1MHz overclock on the GPU or on the memory, this doesn't make a difference. Hope you can find a solution.

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.2.1 Software Feedback... - 2007/02/08 16:16 Well, I was in the same as you but all you do is clock it in 2D mode on RaBiT and OverDrive in RaBiT and it works fine. All sorted had to do it in the 2D bit on the overclocking and its now sorted... Got now GPU at 620MHz and the memory at 1460MHz. Now it reads right...

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.2.1 Software Feedback... - 2007/02/08 17:25 Oh yes, you are right, it works now. Sorry, didn't see your previous replies before. I have a question, voltage changes works in override 2D mode too? I got 600/1460MHz on my card, I think I'm PSU limited (Enermax 400W Liberty). Thanks a lot.

I did...and I'm still on the search of my jaw. Here are the on chip numbers on all 8 chips... From my little research I found out that these are the fastest GDDR3 chips that Samsung offers and rated at 1.1ns (1800MHz effective at 2.0V) but you already know that.
Samsung GDDR3 Memory
K4J52324QC-BJ11

I found some details on these from a Radeon X1900 XTX review... The fastest GDDR3 memory chips (K4J5324QC-BJ11), which works at 2.0V voltage and at 1800MHz frequency, consumes a current of 1180mA and has a power consumption of 2.36W... Although Samsung's specifications says 1.8V. I believe that there's something with timings as you said or/and with voltage. Can't think that these chips are set to run at 1400MHz with 2.0V.

Stranger is that they don't take even 1MHz. Is it possible to have a lock or something? Just one more question. What's those two switches placed on the reversed side of the PCB, between the core and the memory chip? Does all this need separate topic? If so, please... I'm looking forward for your reply from you experts!

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.2.1 Software Feedback... - 2007/02/08 22:13 On the Radeon X1900 and X1950 series cards its not a card fault more then a driver issue. I couldn't do squat with the Catalyst 7.1's until I did a complete uninstall and manually deleted ATI files and registeries. Then reinstalled them and now I can overclock like mad with no real issues...
