Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/03 11:07 Well since we get more and more request on getting development increased for both RaBiT (Radeon BIOS Tuner) and NiBiTor (NVIDIA BIOS Editor) we would like to start a fund raising initiative for the main coders of these nice programs. Since some months now the demand is higher and more advanced coding required to support all the new technology and our coders are feeling a bit down due to the way it is moving forward. Meaning too much demand and too less appreciation...

So, in a way to show your appreciation for the development of these two programs, namely RaBiT and NiBiTor we would like to raise some funds to give a positive sign their work is considered very valuable. What do you all think... There are actually two ways forward with this, either some tanguable support is shown and our coders would be very happy they can actually keep up the work or nothing is shown and they will somehow lose their interest, which is somehow already visible if we look at the RaBiT project...

All up to you guys, but personally as the owner of this website I am already doing my part and contributing review samples from time to time to help the development on the new technology and trying to make it a regular donation. But well that is just my way of showing that their work is important, now it is up to you all to let me know...

Re:Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/03 12:30 Yeah, that is really a lot of work to do for such a big project. I have contributed already by sending out the BIOS of my Palit in the bugtracker section. Nevertheless, this is my first ATI card and I have never used your tools. I am pretty sure, that you will do a good job and I will contribute with some donation if the tools are up and running... Thanks for the good job so far.

Re:Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/03 15:11 Thanks for the feedback... Well, just to comment on that, providing us your BIOS is essential and without that we can't do anything. So that should just be considered as something normal that everyone should do as a habit and is not considered real support to the coder. Cause what does the BIOS bring as real value? That they have work to do again. And I can tell you this, without extra input and efforts the RaBiT development might end in the coming months, weeks, days... The coder just doesn't have any fun at it anymore, as he believes it is all taken for granted all the coding and updates, and more important the time spend. It is all up to you guys to make it a bit easier to keep up the good work!

Re:Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/04 08:48 Well I would say that is only normal such an evolution... If you want to keep someone interested and working on it you need to make sure it is remaining a challenge. That you can do by making sure the person can get the latest hardware or some extra pocket money. In my opinion, this should be something natural and well an idea I could think of is that if everyone would just donate just $1 then I think you can keep the persons happy and they can actually upgrade to newer hardware a bit easier... And I hope others will think similarly.

Re:Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/04 14:13 Mmm, I very much like that idea... Cause $1 a person isn't much and if everyone would just do that it would certainly be a nice gesture towards the coders of the programs. Cause quite a lot of time is spend on coding the extra support and new logic each time a new BIOS is coming along. So I like this idea and would like to introduce it... And id it doesn't bring in anything, well then we will draw our conclusions.

Re:Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/04 19:17 Well, I for one think its great what you and them and all the rest on the internet that do all that you's do with BIOS's, drivers, modding and so on... To everyone of you's you have my heart felt thanks. For all your time and effort!

Re:Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/06 07:14 What do I have to do to donate? I need to have my Radeon X1800 GTO overdrive clock situation fixed and am willing to fork over some cash to get it done. Let me know what I have to do. Thanks...

Well currently I am still waiting for more feedback and as well the input of the two main coders, and mainly just the coder of RaBiT as that one expressed that he has lost interest to continue on working on further development as it felt as wasting time and no real return on what he has done so far...

Re:Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/06 12:51 Hi, I can not hear this anymore. Coders looses interest. Bla bla... Everyone knows, that it is a lot of work. So what? The coders shall contribute to this discussion and we will find a solution. I am also willing to spend $1. Find it is a good commitment and a good deal. But the coder has to say, yes, I will do this if everyone spends some money.

Re:Fund raising, your RaBiT and NiBiTor development support? - 2007/09/06 16:17 Well, I am not going to propose this if I don't have enough feedback that it is a feasible option. Cause if we just go for that and only a handfull contribute then we know where we will end up. And currently I am quite disappointed by the lack of interest in this thread and feedback on this thread.
