Radeon HD 2600 mobile BIOS, how to get the backup saved? - 2007/10/24 17:22 First of all hello guys... It's my first post so be gentle. Well, I was looking for something to flash my Radeon HD 2600 mobile BIOS to a different version since it looks like HP blocked some stuff on my card and set lower clocks and so on, and I found this site. I would like to contribute a bit and I was hoping to post a copy of my BIOS here as well for getting this RaBiT software working again.

The only problem is that I don't have floppy in my laptop so can't boot up from it. The only alternative is USB stick. I've got 3 available but I need some guide how to make them bootable. I've got Windows Vista and XP installed and SATA HDD. Do you think it would be wise to flash different BIOS than the Radeon HD 2600? Well, what sort of things I can be hoping to get from a different one?

I know that ASUS is selling its notebook with a Radeon HD 2600 and it has a different BIOS so I was hoping to flash this one on mine... Thanks!

Re:Radeon HD 2600 mobile BIOS, how to get the backup saved? - 2007/10/25 13:47 So just a extra information... I tried to backup BIOS in MsDOS with newest ATIFlash but I got very funny error. Well, I started ATIFlash, run it with "-ai" parameter to check what will I see and get the following...
- Adapter 0 BN==01, DN=00, PCIID=95811022
- ASIC RV630
- Flash Type Unkown SPI (64kb)
- No VBIOS

Can you tell me what does it mean? And is there no BIOS? When I tried to backup the BIOS, it just gives an empty file. Can somebody help me?

Re:Radeon HD 2600 mobile BIOS, how to get the backup saved? - 2007/10/26 08:20 Well it would be nice if you could tell us which version of ATIFlash that you are using, cause saying you used the latest version doesn't really mean you got the latest version... We have seen that already a lot, so please let us know. Cause from the below it means that your mobile graphics card is not yet supported with ATIFlash...
