Radeon 9250 BIOS and video mode and timings supported? - 2007/10/23 17:33 I am trying to get a list of supported video modes along with their timing information, like pixelclock, hbporch, hfporch, etc. Is there such a tool that will decode this information from a BIOS image? If not, is there any resources that documents how these images are structured? Basically my goal is to build a database of supported video modes in my card. The reason I need this is because the default Linux drivers have their own mode and timing tables and ignore the one in the cards BIOS. Any information is appreciated. Thanks...

Re:Radeon 9250 BIOS and video mode and timings supported? - 2007/10/23 19:09 Euh, that doesn't exist at all and I am not sure it is really encoded in the BIOS but rather in the drivers. Cause also the drivers in Windows for the ATI based cards have some configuration files which give details on supported resolutions and so on... And documents to decode BIOS images? Good luck to find those and if you do we would like those as well but since we started we haven't seen any and we found out what we know so far by ourselves...

Yeah I've been googling my little heart out and it the most helpful source of information has been reading the source code to radedit, which wasn't all that helpful.

I will muck around with the drivers a bit and see if that gets me anywhere. Otherwise it's back to trial and error (more error than trial). Thanks again...
