Cause with the GeForce Go series we have seen that there are more then one version, so we might need to add extra support. But without your BIOS we can't make any changes. I guess you used nvFlash to make a backup of the BIOS? Certainly. NiBiTor backed it up just fine, it just doesn't know from which end to read it... The accelerator it self is on it's own board, but it looks not like any of MXM. It would be wonderful to edit memory timings and GPU delta. Thanks again for doing wonderful job for the overclockers community.
RivaTuner Specification Details... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Display adapter information -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description : NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 Vendor ID : 10de (NVIDIA) Device ID : 0398 Bus type : PCIE -------------------------------------------------------------------------- NVIDIA specific display adapter information -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Graphics core : NV4B/G73 revision A2 (8pp,5vp) Hardwired ID : 0398 (ROM strapped to 0398) Memory bus : 128-bit Memory type : DDR2 (RAM configuration 03) Memory amount : 262144KB Core clock domain 0 : 351.000MHz Core clock domain 1 : 351.000MHz Core clock domain 2 : 351.000MHz Memory clock : 351.000MHz (702.000MHz effective) Reference clock : 27.000MHz
Okay, I also managed to read memory part number, this is Hynix memory with the following HY5P8561621AFP-25 as details. I didn’t find any memory with part number like that on hynix website. Now I begin to see the problem, the BIOS file I saved is empty, so is the one I tried to make with nvFlash, actually is 0 bytes... I even begin to think there is no independent video BIOS at all. Maybe I’m missing something?

It says that it has support for the GeForce Go 7600 series. But it still doesn't want reading that BIOS and I want to play with timings so badly. It shows in NiBiTor device ID 47BC (Unsupported), and according to ATITool device ID is 0398. Does anybody have any idea what is the problem? I use Compal HEL80 laptop with default video. The same for me here, no luck with the NiBiTor v3.4a, my notebook as the ASUS A6T with the GeForce Go 7600. And it seems that the RivaTuner v2.01 has a problem with that BIOS too, as it could not dump the BIOS.

Yeps indeed, it is not a problem of NiBiTor, but rather a problem of getting a backup of the GeForce Go 7600 graphics card. And yes for some notebooks the BIOS is actually encorporated in the BIOS of the laptop itself, which will make it very had to extract and reflash.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.4a Software Feedback... - 2007/05/29 09:18The fan speed control doesn't seem to work in NiBiTor on my Leadtek WinFast 8600 GT BIOS. The card comes with the fan speed set at 50% by default and increasing it doesn't seem to do anything...

Okay, can you share the BIOS and also have you tried of adjusting the fan speed via software is working? Please try RivaTuner and see if that works...

As you sad it's hard work and I want to know if you will manage to fix this in the next version. Well if you can ask Microsoft to get rid of their blocking shitty coding then we could support Vista, it is just Vista that doesn't allow you to run certain code or access hardware directly. And that is exactly what is needed if you want to backup the BIOS from the graphics card. And NiBiTor itself is working just fine on Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit, just not the advanced functions of reading the BIOS and setting timings etc. which need the driver. The problem on Vista is the new driver signing forced by microsoft, and that is why all the other overclock tools don't work neither.
There is a way to disable driver signing permanently which is told by people to be able to use these tools. You can use F8 key on bootup and choose to disable driver signing for the current session. Because some people may want driver signing active because Microsoft says it improves their system security. People normally just use the Read BIOS function, and that normally once to get their BIOS backed up, so they are candidates for the F8 method. More overclocking happy folks just use the "bcdedit" method to get rid of driver signing and can use all RivaTuner etc. and NiBiTor functions as they want.

You are welcome... Any other feedback is greatly appreciated as we are also working on a newer version of NiBiTor and if you got some extra BIOS's that would be good, so share as much as possible to get an even better version.

I do not know the way the PCWizard uses for the extraction, maybe it is from the shadow copy, also the output format is not pure binary, so if anybody can check, please, sense of this dumped stuff...
