Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.4a Software Feedback... - 2007/05/11 23:30 Hello, I'm new at this but I'm always game. I'm running a BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC on Vista 32-bit. I launched NiBiTor v3.4a, all files in same folder and when I select read BIOS I get a window that states cannot connect to service manager. Can you help? Thank you...

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.4a Software Feedback... - 2007/05/11 23:47 With Vista you can't get direct access to the BIOS like with Windows XP, and each program that wants to gain access directly to the hardware is somehow not allowed by Vista so currently there is no way we can support that operating system. We are however trying to find a method to get this working, but that is a work of many hours, days,... For now when you have Vista, you need to make a bootable DOS floppy with nvFlash to backup your BIOS and then you can use NiBiTor to change it. Also make sure you always provide us your original backup BIOS as well for reference.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.4a Software Feedback... - 2007/05/12 10:08 Hi, I downloaded today the new version of NiBiTor v3.4a. It says that it has support for the GeForce Go 7600 series. But it still doesn't want reading that BIOS and I want to play with timings so badly. It shows in NiBiTor device ID 47BC (Unsupported), and according to ATITool device ID is 0398. Does anybody have any idea what is the problem? I use Compal HEL80 laptop with default video.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.4a Software Feedback... - 2007/05/12 10:48 I have flashed the BFG GeForce 8800 Ultra BIOS onto my XFX GeForce 8800 GTX using nvFlash v5.50. The new NiBiTor reads the BIOS fine, seems exactly the same BIOS as the first one? Isn't the menu supposed to be BFG in the vendor info one?

Can you attach your BIOS and provide the details of the card you have? Like amount of memory and so on. Cause with the GeForce Go series we have seen that there are more then one version, so we might need to add extra support. But without your BIOS we can't make any changes. I guess you used nvFlash to make a backup of the BIOS?

And why should that be? In fact what the vendor is doesn't matter, and actually BFG has used the default BIOS directly as NVIDIA has supplied it. And neither did they adjust the signon message. This is actually the way it is done to just fastly release the card. After some time this changes with newer BIOS as then they take the time to make sure it show that it is a BFG card.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.4a Software Feedback... - 2007/05/12 11:12 Jeez! Just asking! Didn't expect the full blow answer... Just raising the question. Thanks for the info anyways.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.4a Software Feedback... - 2007/05/12 11:25 Well you asked... Sorry if the answer offended you. But I rather set the record straight as you ask that linked to NiBiTor feedback while the tool has nothing to do with that. We focus on clear details, then just talking with nu added value.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v3.4a Software Feedback... - 2007/05/12 12:07 No problem, cause if mine was a bit harsh too. I just wanted to make 100% sure, and you definately cleared that up for me.
