Re:Problem with 6600GT and HL2 - 2005/01/03 02:50 Did you put cwsdpmi.exe on the boot disk too?

Re:Problem with 6600GT and HL2 - 2005/01/03 03:41 No. I've downloaded the nvflash.exe from bunny something site and put it on the boot disk. From where should I get the file you are talking about?

Re:Problem with 6600GT and HL2 - 2005/01/03 04:00 cwsdpmi.exe should be in the zip file with nvflash.exe.

We have all that here

Don't forget, different versions sometimes have different commands.

Re:Problem with 6600GT and HL2 - 2005/01/04 23:56 I entered in DOS:
a:nvflash -b backup.rom

and it wrote me ERROR: NO NVIDIA DISPLAY ADAPTER FOUND.

And it doesn't make any sense, because I can see nVidia as the display adapter at Device Manager, and I can see the nVidia Drivers at "UninstallInstall" utillity.

Re:Problem with 6600GT and HL2 - 2005/01/05 00:04 I can't tell which version of nVFlash you're using, but try v5.12, it's the newest.

Be sure to copy both files to your floppy, and before you do a flash, look at the instructions, they're different than 4.42 (if that's what you're using).

Let me know how it goes.

Re:Problem with 6600GT and HL2 - 2005/01/05 02:58 So what do you have to say.
Did the file enlighten the problem in any way?

Re:Problem with 6600GT and HL2 - 2005/01/05 03:34 Nope, after looking at your bios, it looks pretty standard..

Maybe your rig can't do NFSU2 at the highest settings.

I probably couldn't run it well at highest settings with my rig either and I have a 6800GT. I usually run games at the default settings.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, 'cause you spent a lot of money for your card and feel entitled to the "highest settings". But these days, game developers are ahead of the gfx card manufacturers. The gfx card probably doesn't even exist yet that will run "Far Cry" to it's fullest degree of quality. And as long as some customers will spend ridiculous amounts for the real high-end cards, game developers will continue to cater to them and normal people will be up sh!ts creek.

All I can suggest is to try it at default settings. And investigate whether you have a hardware conflict.
