Are you always like this? Just wondering as I give advice and you never really care about it? Secondly why are you always jumping from Vista to XP and vice versa without actually focussing on one aspect and then the next one? Frankly speaking that show to me a lack of interest or even willingness to get this solved as you don't listen and that means wasting my time and that of others. So why should I or anyone else still try to get this resolved?

You don't get it, I really want this solved that is why I try all the sorts of things that comes to my mind. I just found out that the problem came from the drivers or from the configuration I used. This means I won't reinstall my system. If you have a sample of a good configuration for a GeForce 7300 GT...you can still write it down here. Sorry if you felt like I did not listen to any of the advices but I really wanted to consider all of the possibilites before reinstalling my system...

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/06/27 19:40 Well my advice remains... Cause you findings just don't make sense with what you are saying. You say it is due to the fact that it came from the drivers or the configuration you used. Sorry but if it came from drivers or so, then a fresh install can resolve it all. If you don't want to try that after all things you tried then it makes no sense to try and find other solutions as the problem might be completely hidden, and linked to a driver file or registry entry that is the cause of all this. And then be my guest to find that...

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/06/29 12:40 The reinstallation of Windows XP did not help. I reinstalled yesterday and I'm not seeing any changes, the slow downs are still there at the beginning of the game, after that the game is playable. Same problem then... Now you won't tell me I didn't try what you said.

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/06/29 18:39 Good! At least that is one thing out of the way. So you only got slow down at the beginning of the game? Or also still in the game at any time?

There are just slow downs during the first 30 seconds or first minute, games are playable after this amount of time...

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/06 11:00 Based on your system specifications, I only have one question... Have you installed VIA hyperion drivers?

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/07 11:39 Yup, I did install the latest Hyperion drivers for the VIA chipset of my mainboard. Any other pointers or tips, ideas to be checked or done?

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/07 15:10 The latest VIA Hyperion is version 5.12A. For the KT400, I normally use the older v4.56 since I notice a slight difference in responsiveness. However, I install a different VIA PATA/SATA driver package version 1.60a because I also notice a difference when copying larger files. I also manually regedit a key for AMD system as below...
HKLM,"SYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory Management", LargePageMinimum, %REG_DWORD%, 0xffffffff
The above key was stated in forceware release note to fix OS issue with AMD processor. I normally set the AGP aperature to 128MB and disable AGP3.0 calibration cycle in BIOS. I found that some cards have problems if I enable the AGP3.0 calibration cycle. Your system behaviour may be different from mine but I hope it can help you locate the problem which makes your system freeze.

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/08 13:29 I recently changed my system for a socket 939 mainboard. Here is my Everest report. If I have to reinstall old Hyperion drivers like yours just tell me. Tried to change calibration cycle, aperture size and large minimum reg hack but I saw no change? Do you think I have to change Hyperion drivers, I am now using VIA K8T800 Pro based motherboard so...
