Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/08 16:57 The K8T800Pro is a good chipset. I have the ABIT KV8Pro and Sempron S754 3100+. For this chipset I use VIA Hyperion 5.12A, disable AGP3.0 calibration cycle and disable DBI output for AGP Trans in BIOS. I don't have much clue why the games runs laggy during the first 30 secs on your system suited with 2GB ram. Try changing the Windows virtual memory setting to system managed size and put the paging file in NTFS partition.

FAT32 have a limit of 2GB for a single file. I suggest you remove the paging file from FAT32 partition by setting it as no paging file. If the problem still exists, I suspect your card might have throttling problem. Use RivaTuner to enable RMLogonRC key so you can check the NVIDIA driver related event through event viewer. You can also use RivaTuner built-in hardware monitoring to check if your card temperature causing the freeze. The GPU temperature normally raise during 3D mode.

One of RivaTuner feature is you can have On-screen Display showing the GPU speed, memory speed and temperature while running 3D games by enabling RivaTuner statistic server...

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/08 18:33 Can't happen to find where RMLogonRC key is. Could you tell me where to find it in RivaTuner, where exactly it is located?

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/08 19:06 Click PowerUser tab, open matched database (if no matched, select nearest database). Then you select NVIDIA Forceware xx.xx system (xx.xx is the ForceWare version), you should find the key there. Put the value "1" and restart your system. Check event viewer under Windows system administrative tool to make sure an entry with description RM logging enabled. If there's any problem with the card, event viewer will log it.

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/09 12:22 Okay I have done all that and it says no database for 94.xx? So what should I do now? Or what should I change on this?

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/09 13:05 You can use database for 93.71 because 94.xx is still ForceWare 90 series, so that should just work fine.

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/09 23:22 RMLogon RC activated but no errors noticed at all although the slow downs were present.

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/11 09:04 Have you tried changing the page file access to NTFS partition and set it to system managed?

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/13 10:55 Well, it doesn't matter anymore, I changed the motherboard for a DFI LANParty UT NF4 SLI-D with an MSI GeForce 8600 GT OC edition. And I see no more slow downs.

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/14 09:14 Good thinking mate, cause I am quite positive it was something with the hardware, cause it was just not normal that with a fresh install it would have been fixed. So good to go ahead and change and no longer waste time in trying to find out something you will never be able to solve.

Re:Freezing problem with my computer, random hiccups... - 2007/07/16 01:02 Yeah that's true that's why I decided to change my motherboard, my graphicq card and my processor. I got an AMD Opteron 170 now. Anyway I'll do a quick test on another computer... That's all for now. Is there a review on the MSI GeForce 8600 GT OverClocked?
