Disable TurboCache on GeForce 6200 TC from the drivers... - 2007/04/23 15:24
Hi all, I recently bought a 2nd hand MSI GeForce 6200 TC PCI express 128MB supporting up to 256MB (NV44 Rev A2). Since I have 128MB on board, I try to Google around and search on how to disable the TurboCache feature but to no avail. Finally, using ForceWare 81.94 drivers and RivaTuner, I found a key value that disable the TurboCache feature.
Using RivaTuner, under power user tab, open matched database, and then NVIDIA ForceWare 81.94 system, I set the value to "1" on RMDisableRenderToSysMem and restarted my PC. I found that the control panel is now showing only 128MB. Here is the benchmark results using ForceWare 81.94 with and without TurboCache.
GeForce 6200, TurboCache Enabled...
- 3DMark01 : 9702
- 3DMark03 : 2785
GeForce 6200, TurboCache Disabled...
- 3DMark01 : 9623
- 3DMark03 : 2770
A little drop without TurboCache enabled. Maybe due to less memory to render the scene but I hope this helps people with system less than 1GB memory...
