Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB AGP, no overclock? - 2007/02/14 06:29 Does anyone with this card try to overclock memory? Stock speed is 1404MHz and chips do not take up not even 1MHz without artifacts. I've already talked about this by giving BIOS copy and the specifications of the memory chips. The amazing thing is memory specifications.
Samsung Memory...

I'm sure most of know that 1.1ns means 1800MHz capability! So for now I'm just waiting for a possible answer on this issue. If anyone has the same card and know something please...

Re:Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB AGP, no overclock? - 2007/02/14 09:40 Well as far as I can tell the memory timings are not inline with the specifications of the 1.1ns memory. So that should be adjusted. And for the record also NVIDIA has been supplying instead of lower 1.2ns or 1.4ns on their recents cards some decent 1.1ns memory and also here we saw the same thing the timings being set at 1.4ns instead of 1.1ns and that was limiting the clock speed.

Re:Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB AGP, no overclock? - 2007/02/15 11:56 So is there any chance that can make this work? Can I try to alter timings with RaBiT (real time)? And what about memory voltage? Do we know anything about those two switches at the back of the PCB?

Yes you can use RaBiT to adjust the timings according to the specifications. Just go to the Samsung website and look for the memory specifications and in the ".pdf" document at the last pages you will find the related timings. Use those of the 1.2ns memory first and try, after that and if it works you can try to use the 1.1ns timings.

Re:Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB AGP, no overclock? - 2007/02/25 20:47 What are you using to try and overclock the card? I have come across a thread on another forum that using RivaTuner doesn't work with the memory for some reason. I have experienced the same also with a new Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO PCI Express card. Someone was sucessful using the ATI Tweak included with the Omega drivers. I am going to be trying that now. Long time no see Mavke.

Great to see you once again. Indeed long time no see... Keep us posted on your efforts and the results.

Re:Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB AGP, no overclock? - 2007/03/04 19:30 I have that same card and its a complete pain in the butt to get it to overclock. But I did get it to break 1580MHz on the memory. If you are still interested I can see what I can do...

Re:Sapphire Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB AGP, no overclock? - 2007/03/06 04:23 Okay, I remember how to overclock the memory on the Radeon X1950 PRO. First in RivaTuner under overclocking tab you need to go to more button and uncheck VGA script parser usage for clock frequency progamming and allow VGA parser to tune timings and check allow driver level overdrive. Basically easier way, check top option then uncheck the 2nd and 3rd option.
