Re:Using RivaTuner, and GTS increasing the fan speed?! - 2007/03/04 20:09
When you start up RivaTuner, you are in the main tab, now look down you will see Driver Settings and a drop down box. It will have ForceWare detected, to the right in that same box you will see an arrow click on it. Then you be giving a few more options, click on the graphics card looking icon which is Driver Level Overclocking and Adjustments. Then you will be giving a new window first tab is Overclocking next is Fan Speed. Click on the Fan Speed tab, now you will see 3 sliders adjust all of these to 100%, all the way to the right. Then look down you will see a check box apply fan settings at startup check it.
The individual fan controls are as follows, the top standard 2D. When you are browsing windows surfing the net is actually 2D operation. The middle low power 3D is throtteling when your card got way beyond heat specifications and it has been forced to drop clock speeds to attempt to cool it. Always set this to 100% and lets hope it never uses this. Bottom performance 3D when you are gaming or rendering things in 3D mode. You may want to play with these settings to give you quietness and coolness but remember sacrafice noise for cooling. And noise is better than overheating the graphics card!
