Re:Question about all those Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's... - 2007/01/28 14:13Don't discount the memory! The board defaults at 1.8V most decent DDR2 likes 2.1/2.2V. So you have to check your memory voltage and set it manually. You might need a cheap stick of DDR2 to get to BIOS. Is it a fresh install Windows? If not do it, the nForce 680i had issues with SATA drives, corrupting them so flash up to latest BIOS and clean install of Windows. Hope this helps.

Re:Question about all those Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's... - 2007/01/28 15:49I see one more guy that doesn't understand the problem, it is not a Windows problem. Not an HDD problem and not a ram problem. When I only have my GX2 at the mainboard I got a black screen after the first boot screen but Windows and all loads up (I saw my PC at the network and can access it). So I have only a problem with the PCI Express, the EVGA board haves a problem with my graphics card...
Euh, I have writtee it at a site before what is the problem and wrote how I worked it out. What's the problem to read a bit and don't say test the ram its ram put out ram. Or its a Windows problem or SATA... Yeah, its a Windows, SATA and ram problem, that's the reason I can boot up in Windows with my solution and can make everything like Prime95, MemTest, 3DMark and all others... Damnit...

Re:Question about all those Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's... - 2007/01/28 16:05I am not gona post anything, cause I don't have a nForce 680i based mainboard, but they all have their issues, so I am not surpised. But can you keep the thread a bit nice and clean? And for those who are posting a reply read the previous posts before posting the same thing as someone else, those things don't help unless you have the exact same problem and have been able to fix it... Thanks!

Re:Question about all those Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's... - 2007/01/28 22:41Then if your sure its the board, quit flogging a dead horse, its cruel and send it packing for a new one. I've an EVGA nForce 680i with zero issues, so ya got a lemon, get rid of it. No need to get rude or upset at this forums cause nobody has a solution thats acceptable, it's a brand new board, they can't all be 100% okay. And can't expect everyone to have one already. Maybe a bum powet supply also failing at a certain draw of power...
Though I am running a 700watt GameXtreme also with two GeForce 7950 GX2 cards and no issues, so change the board and I still hope it works out for you. I would also try the video card in both slots. Connecting the monitor to each connection just to make sure its not a peg link issue...

Re:Question about all those Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's... - 2007/01/29 03:03I tried this coming, I tried to connect two TFT's to the two connections, same problem. I have tried to put in the card into the second and third PCI Express, same problem. I still wait for an answer or for an RMA number from EVGA. Then I will look what I do, for now its working with the PCI card. The GX2 works good in Windows with multi-GPU, but its bad to connect each time the PCI card when I would do some settings in the BIOS. And I think, when my two GeForce 8800 cards arrive I can't connect anymore my PCI card cause there is no room for it...

Re:Question about all those Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's... - 2007/01/29 21:18ok , evga answered , i phoned with them and gained the phone number from the europe support , so i called the europe support , they helped me a bit but we found no solution , so , they send me now a board and when its arrive i can test it and when it works i send the old board back , i spoke a long time with those guys , they lead me to flash all the bios files like i before did , but i tested it again , they lead me through connect the cards to pcie 1 to 3 like i did it before , nothing works , but the support from evga is great ! so we come to the solution that they send me a new board with all the package and all stuff and i only send the old board back , if the new board works , i hope so , i will be very happy i made this day a 3dmark at stock clockrates and i got ~2000 points cpu , thats great, i think this cpu @ 3ghz will rock
i still not connected my h2o cooling coz i first want to clear out the problem with the board , when all is done and my 8800gtx arrives , i hope i can kick down a bit the records
